If I only had a time machine......2022 would never see the likes of me again.....I would NEVER leave 1979.....thank you Ian.....

He is the real thing. Crazy eyes! I once was a concert where I was in the audience singing too loudly. He stared at me for 3 seconds and I couldn't sing anymore. Had to listen silently to the whole concert. ^^ And also, he's an honest to god genius. Awesome. :)

Ian came to town a few years ago when Martin was still in the band-and I was really close to the stage, just kind of focusing on Martin's fingers for awhile, and I looked up and Ian was looking right at me, like "Hey, Dude--eyes right here. I'm playing right now."

Finding this made my day. This is prime-era Tull. Stormwatch is one of my favorite of their albums. I bought it the week it came out, and seeing this takes me back...1979. I was 15 years old. Ah, back in the day! :)

Priceless stuff. To actually witness the writing and recording of one of Tull's greatest songs (Dark Ages). What a treat. "Shaking the Dead"

Wonderful to see a bit of Ian's process. Everything I've read and seen has said he hates to be watched or filmed with he sings for an album. It's nice to hear him singing with such a strong voice and noodling around with the flute. My favorite music by far!

Would love to have seen the Heavy Horses tour, from which these live shots were filmed. Early 1979 was the tail end of that tour and, sadly, John's final days with the band. I was fortunate enough to get to see them in October of that year at the beginning of the Stormwatch tour.

Oh, how I would adore having a full/complete audio version of this version of Dark Ages, with John Glascock on bass and the much heavier groove than on record. It's almost like the same song but with the sound of the Heavy Horses album. Maybe there's some way it can find its way to the remaster, once they get to Stormwatch in that process.

Martin's guitar tone is vicious in the studio here... it's a shame he changed it to generic 80's crap tone after Stormwatch.
