Ben, I really appreciate your videos. I am an older guy (59, 60 in October of 23) and went to Culinary School at my local Community College, never being told that I would NEVER be hired into the industry because I am too old. Well, I stumbled upon your videos by accident... heard about and bought your paperback book "Hot Dogs Saved My Life". Best and easiest read I have ever done... and I am someone who cannot successfully finish a book as it takes me MONTHS to get through one. I am so easily distracted and then lose my place and end up re- and re- and RE-reading entire pages. Well, I got your book finished in only two sittings. I couldn't put it down. My original intent, given almost three years out of the workforce (not by choice either), having lost my home and about to lose my food stamps (now gone), I was going to work with my sons and finance a cart... well, as things worked out, I have someone that I met through my church that has a food truck and is looking to sell and get out of the business. They made bank when they did the business, but they are a young family with young kids and didn't want to lose out on the time. I can respect that, my kids are adult now (in fact, as I write this, I await the birth of my first grandchild, a granddaughter). While I may NOT be getting a cart, I want you to know that I look to you as a mentor and as the reason that I decided to get into street food in any capacity. Not only do I know that I will be successful, I will actually be able to fulfill my desire of being in hospitality, making people happy with my food. By the way, I took your idea of the Coke Onions and ran with it... put my own spin on it... my specialty is going to be "The Doctor", an all-beef hotdog topped with Dr Pepper Caramelized Onions (actually almost onion jam consistency), and "The Specialist", a top quality burger with the same toppings. These are the only "named" items on my truck and I credit you with being the inspiration. I humbly ask... would you be my official mentor in this new and exciting journey that I am taking. I have naysayers in my family (even) who I must PROVE wrong. I know that with God, and with your mentorship... I cannot and will not fail. Thank you for everything you are doing. You truly rock!!!

This is seriously strange. Every time I tried punching in the website Ben gave for food laws I would get an error message that I am “not connected to the internet “ …even though I had no problem connecting to anything else. WTF?

Hey Ben, thanks for everything you do. I've watched a bunch of your videos but this is the first one I've seen that's really recent. I wasn't even sure if you were still doing this stuff. I was wondering if you guys were still building the smaller Cash Cow. And if so an approximate price on how much one would cost with the Full Steam and flip top cover. I just turned 59 and I've made a lot of money for a lot of other people in the restaurant business and now I'm ready to start slingin' dogz for myself. Looked at a hot dog cart yesterday I came across at the back of a bazaar. Currently grinding at Texas cottage food sales (popcorn and salsa mainly) to purchase it, hope to be slinging wieners by late spring. Left my retail auto parts job last summer to pursue this. I just tested my first batch of hotdogs and it was a success. I have a round 2 coming on Monday. I don't have a cart yet. But I have the hard part done. I have a name, and a personalized specialty dog.

@@ProjectLifev2 I was going to use Members Mark as well, but at our store they had Ball Park right next to them for the same price for 24. They really seem to absorb the flavors if you're doing dirty water dogs. Just throwing out options, I hope you are successful in all you do! 😃
