This is what I love about these types of figures. They're not as complicated and fragile as the masterpiece figures, yet capture the spirit and charm of the original toy while updating a lot of the flaws of it.

I think it says something about the engineering on the original Transmetal Optimus that the transformation sequence is almost identical except for the knees.

I just ordered this from ShowZStore. I still have my original , in fact I have a lot of the figures still. This is my absolute favorite Optimus Primal, out of Optimal Optimus and the Convoy (Beast Wars) (2014) as I got rid of my original.

It’s not fair that you call this just an oversize of the original. The original gorilla head wasn’t able to be turned. It was stationary facing forward... just one of the many differences. This new TransArt has nothing in common with the original everything is designed as their own

I got the original, and looking at this man did they make improvements to the mold. The second I saw it I had to order him. Oh. And in answer to your question about buying a figure multiple times because you wanted to display him in multiple modes, I did it with Punch/Counterpunch. I loved the bot modes so much I couldn't decide ehich one to go with, so I got two. And I would really like to see these guys do the Rhinox mold from the Thrilling 30. I bet they could really make it shine.

Not sure this is really a KO looking at all the engineering, it could just be that Mainframe did such a good job adaptting the toy into a show model that by going for the MP look this figure can't help but look close to the original. I reckon a TM Cheetor would end up the same.

Its not really an oversized KO (which i felt like you were kind of implying) its preemuch all new sculpt. But since they both match the cartoon so well it easy to see how you were confused. But yeah lots of differences to the old toy. Much closer to the cartoon

Getting the injection molding dies is a big business cost. Plastic is cheap, but actual Dies to press the plastic can bankrupt you. My neighbor spent 40K on injection molding dies for boardgame figurines for his Kickstarter.

The irony of this company making a mostly original TM1 Optimus is that one of their few other releases was a scaled down TM2 Optimus that was absolute garbage. Their Transmutate was pretty solid, though.

@@BensKOllectables I think you'll really love it. All I can say otherwise is that it's BIG. However big you probably imagine it will be, even having seen comparison shots, it'll likely seem bigger once you have it in hand! I had to go back and check the "unofficial" scale charts, and it's actually scaled pretty much correctly compared to all the S1 MP BW releases so far.
