That was a BIG HUNT! Congrats on your big tom!! Great video to boot!!

The cat is beautiful AND you saved a lot of sheep! When a hunter knows AND appreciates that every moment and opportunity in the woods is special, it is obvious...and that is the case with you, Ben. Your videos are great, and so is the sense of humility and respect that you have for everything about each hunt! Hope to see another one soon. Stay safe!

Great job taking a mature cat and helping the sheep population. Would like to see some footage from your new sheep hunting area. Been wanting to do a sheep & caribou combo for years.

Nice job,melon head on him. Curious if you measured his pad as well instead of just stride? Appeared he was just finishing a kill and was heading out after his circle? Enjoyed the video,thanks!
@BenStouracArcadia3 жыл бұрын
He had a band of sheep directly below him, and I believe he was just waiting for nightfall to head down the canyon and kill a bighorn lamb. His pad was 2 5/8" wide. Big boy!

Do you know about the age of him. Looked very gray faced!
@BenStouracArcadia4 жыл бұрын
Our biologists aged him at 8 years old +. It takes over a year for actual tooth dating to come back, so I should know exact aging within a few months hopefully.

sad, such an awesome creature dead! i know they kill livestock and sometimes humans, but come on, you take out the best genetically animals from the world and in time will leave us with poor animal stock. I dont get it... not too sporting to me... shoot a cougar from 20 ft away. try hunting it without the dogs! never happen!

Damned annoying music
@BenStouracArcadia2 жыл бұрын
Haha Tom, if I had to make videos with music the whole world enjoyed, it would be impossible. I dont know you, and didn't make this video for you. You chose to watch it. If it was so annoying, watch something else. Thanks.

murders
@desertsoldier412 жыл бұрын
Nope, the cats will murder you if they deplete their own food supply. The is about game management, it is necessary for the overall eco-system.

How can you consider that hunting. You went to a general location. Were you knew their were cats ..Then you set a pack of dog loss.(Which you had said you weren't going to use)You then followed the dogs , that we all knew would find the cat. They ran it up a tree. Then you walk up proudly an shoot a cornered helpless cat. As if you were some Big bad hunter that tracked and hunted all by him self. When in fact all you did was use modern technology and hound dogs , Too slaughter an animal. If you ask me I would say that was some pretty pathetic hunting.. I followed my first cat with my dad when I was knee high for 4 days , with only my rifle and a pack of beef jerky and water.. We found our track on a hunch.. Made our kill from 120 yards . Field dressed and packed out the goods. Now that is hunting..
@rcping3 жыл бұрын
120 yards away? How can you even call that hunting!? Get a stick and string and go stalk inside of 40 yards like I did a couple years ago, ya pansy! Man, you sound ignorant! Did you even watch and listen to this video? By the way, search spot and stalk archery cougar. One of the two videos out there is from my hunt so I'm not just talk!

Tell us you have no knowledge of hound hunting without telling us you have no knowledge of hound hunting! You also clearly have no knowledge of cougars and what goes into one of these hunts!

@linds mertz, aren't yourn arms sore by now? Your huntin story at the end is the phoniest story I've ever heard about...
@mervjb809 Жыл бұрын
Hey mertz...I used to track em and catch them in their bed. Then I would wait til they were asleep and I'd sneak up on them, get em in a head lock, and slit their throat with my pocket knife! It was quite a rush! That was when I was just 12 yrs old.
