Love your video excursions of the parks. You both give a very thorough assessment of each park and it really helps to see where everything is located. I really appreciate you doing this for all of us enthusiastic campers. God bless, Alan

Thank you for this review. I was there last mid September (2021) at site 130 in Granite Ridge. The only tip I would give those booking at Silent Lake is to pay attention to all the details on the site as I missed the ‘poor drainage conditions’ in the description. We received rain 3 out of the 5 nights. We lucked out on not enough rain to wash us out! I will be willing to go back. I have a few sites I would like to be at.

This is a good tip as we missed the distance from the outlet description, luckily the office rents out trailer extension cords.

We're at Silent Lake Provincial Park this August long weekend mainly because it's on Cheryl and Ben's list of good parks for kayaking. The kayaking is very good and the park is excellent.

I don't know if the pressure problem is all the time but I know that our friends that arrived the day before said it was painfully slow to fill up. Later, when we were checking out the dump/fill station for our video, I talked to some people filling up and they said it was really bad. We loved the park though!

Well we just got back from Sient Lake ( Oct 27) first time there. We booked a site then decided to hear and see what the Coles had to say. When you mentioned site 137 I said that sounds familiar. Sure enough ....same site lol. I was careful backing down and ready to hit the brake controller but all went well. Leaving was another story. With the fog and leaves our Sierra (not 4x4) just had the tires spinning. Had to back down and make a severe left turn which was very touch and go. But we made it without a tow. Thanks for your dedication and your willingness to take the time during your camping to do reviews. Much appreciated. Rob and Mary

That's funny that you had the same site. It's a tough site to get in and out of if there it's wet and I can imagine it would be so much worse when you were there with all the leaves. Good thing you made it out on your own. A car towing a pop up two sites away had to be pushed out by a bunch of park staff when we were preparing to leave. It's such a nice park though. Happy camping.

Another park to add to my list! I liked the opening sequence from the cooler. Poor Cheryl, those giggles get her every time. I hope she eventually got back on. ;) Great video looking forward to taking hubby and my three boys there next season. Thank you again for your amazing videos. :D

Omg it Litterally took me a year to find this video!!! When you were talking while filling up your trailer ( 2:01 ) I was watching you (not trying to be creepy, I just saw the camera ) . I was on the campsite on the hill. I saw you and your wife filming Im like « oohhh I wonder what they are doing and I wonder if they have a KZbin channel ». I finally found it. Also I love the campsite that you were on , I love how there is a trail that takes you to the beach. I got here every year. I just wanted to say that I finally found the video !!!

Great review thanks! We just stayed here and what a fantastic park. They seem to have fixed the flow issue with the front gate fill as it only took a few minutes to fill our 20gal tank.
@daviddeacon42584 ай бұрын
We went again this year and the water pressure was back to being painfully slow and the front gate is unthreaded. Could have sworn it was threaded before, has forgotten about the Granite Ridge fill up until afterwards 🤦♂️

just a heads up,,, if your filling with water at the front entrance.... and your fill tanks on the passenger side use the left lane,, if your filling is on drivers side use the right lane,,, as there is only one fill hose there ..in the middle.....great video as always ..

Watched your video a couple months ago and gave this park a try, for the day over the weekend. Thoughts: it was a great little park, the lakefront trail was a good length, about 2-3 km beach to beach and back, challenging with roots, nice lookouts. Snakes and spiders. The beaches were nice, the water was clear and sandy, nice. The paddling was really good, no cottagers, no boats, good size lake for an afternoon paddle. It's not bass season so stuck with trout and they were too elusive for my skills, threw spoons, paddle tails, tubes, spinners, nothing, went deep, worked the banks, trolled, nada. Not to say they arnt out there, for a small lake it might be too pressured, lots of fishing going on. The sites weren't very private, they are in a mature forest, large canopy,so little ground growth, from what i saw. Overall, the kids loved it, so thats a win. I liked how few people there were, we always found a spot on the beach and no lines, more wins. Cheers.

Glad you enjoyed the park! The new dump station is maybe a year and a half old. The park itself is older. My dad worked there making it and I worked there back in the early 80s during height school and college. No electricity in the park back then.

Really enjoy your park reviews, thank you!! Do you happen to know if the sites nearby have water access also? (134, 138, 140, etc.)
@CampingwiththeColes3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the beach trail starts between sites 137 and 138. It's a 350m hike through the woods along the trail to the beach from there. There are no waterfront sites at this park.

Ben did you mean litres or gallons, you said gallons that’s 225 litres. That’s a lot of water close to 500 pounds ,no wonder you fill up at the campsites . Another great video as always.

hello, I watch all your videos on provincial parks,can you give me a list of parks you have been to that has great beaches,with sandy sand in water,no rocks everywhere. i do underwater metal detecting. if you could help,it would be wonderful.cheers jamie
@CampingwiththeColes3 жыл бұрын
I would say that all the parks on Lake Erie, Lake Ontario and Lake Huron fit that bill. They all have big sandy beaches. MacGregor point would be the rockiest but it still has a small sandy beach. Most other parks have small sandy beaches: Mikisew, Restoule, Arrowhead, Grundy, Charleston Lake, Bon Echo, Murphy's Point, Silent lake etc. Hope that helps. Happy treasure hunting!
