I drive a 2006 Arnage R and all I can say is that it is a splendid car. I travel around Europe in all types of weather and the car behaves perfectly at all times. The interior is magnificent and the engine powerful and agile, which allows it to move such a heavy vehicle smoothly and in control. In all these years I have never had a breakdown. And the design makes it a work of art.

I have the Arnage T (2004) and the Continental Speed (2008). Total different cars in character, but I love both.

I very nearly purchased this car just 2 weeks ago. Decided on the Continental GT. But looking at this review has got me thinking again! Oh my, the confusion!

Really depends on what kind of experience you want. This model gives very little thought to performance, either in a straight line or through corners. It isn't slow, but performance isn't really on the agenda. The Continental is a meteor of a car and worlds apart when it comes to personality. Still large and extremely heavy, but relentlessly rapid

If it was down to me and it’s obviously not, I hope you took the Continental GT back if it’s one the early ones as it’s styling and presence has absolutely nothing on the Arnage but hey buddy it’s your money and your choice and I can only live my Bentley experience at this moment in time through lucky people like you who can afford the choice! My time will come 🙏🏾

I had one 8 years ago. I made the huge mistake of taking it to Bentley main dealer for servicing and repairs. Last bill was £3995.00. Yes, I sold it and made a huge loss. Still love it though.

Early gang, yeah. 🍷🗿 But goddamn, I'm a sucker for these old Bentley's...although I like the late 80's/early 90's models better...the super heavy bricks from before the Arnage era... And ironically, also a big fan of the very first Arnage's, with the BMW V8. That one is kind of an underdog IMO, not very appreciated by most people. Thanks for the vid, lad! 👏🏻

I went from an XK 5.0 Portfolio to an Arnage R (2008). Both cars ooze class, but the Arnage is in a different league to the Jag.

It's hard to believe that as a reviewer of these cars you NEVER mentioned their horrific quality control issues. The 6.75 liter is known for blowing head gaskets and the electronics in these cars keeps the warning lights on constantly. That is why they are in the sub $20,000 range. The word is out about the high maintenance costs on these cars. Since the Silver Seraph has the BMW V12, it doesn't have the same issues that the Arnage does in terms of head gaskets issues. Anyone of these cars that you find for sale, be expected to spend over $15,000 in repairs within 1 to 2 years. Although I love their design and style, i would NEVER buy one due to their high cost of ownership.

From 2007 onwards the revamped engine in the Arnage was much improved with the headgasket and camshaft issues resolved. At least this is my understanding.

Having owned both, the Cont GT you overtake everything the Arnage you relax and let everyone overtake you..... Arnage 6.75 check the head gasket has been done the car was not designed for that engine.

My understanding is the common Arnage issues were pretty well sorted when the engine was revamped from 2006/7 onwards.

The Bentley Arnage is really the last real Rolls Royce if you understand the history and the motors that went in what cars. Not that a new phantom isn't amazing, but it doesn't have a rolls motor and the silver seraph didn't either.

The early 'Green Label' actually has a manufacturers plate in the passenger door-well stating "Made by Rolls Royce Motors, Crewe, England"
@AJUSA1
@AJUSA1 3 ай бұрын
@@BibTheBoulderTheOriginalOne Yup! My Red Label has that plate as well. The "Green Label" however doesn't have a Rolls Royce motor but rather a 4.4 BMW V8 that was turbocharged by Cosworth. The Red Label does however have the 6.75L Rolls Royce L series motor and is also made by Rolls. The Mullsanne that replaced it had the 6.75L motor but wasn't a Rolls Royce but rather was created independently from Rolls Royce by Bentley which was owned by VW. The Arnage/Brooklands/Azure are truly the last true Rolls Royce motorcars.

@@AJUSA1 I have owned both engine versions of the Arnage, plus a Rolls Royce Ghost. All wonderful machines. I am currently in the process of choosing my next 'luxury barge' and rather like the RR Phantom.

@@BibTheBoulderTheOriginalOne Awesome! I prefer the new Rolls models over the new Bentley body styles too. Big fan of the Phantom and the Ghost ever since they were introduced. Love the suicide doors and their road presence has been unmatched by the modern Bentleys ever since they parted ways with Rolls. Good luck with the search! Get a great spec!

Whats non tradional about Mulsanne to make this old Arnage "the last traditional Bentley"? In my opinion Mulsanne is an amazing car, all in and out traditional and thousand times better Bentley than Arnage..
