Bentonville tornado disaster, NWA community comes together to help cleanup MTB trails!

What a week it has been… 1am on May the 26th Bentonville, Arkansas got hit by a severe storm and even a EF1 tornado hitting the ground. Lots of damage to homes and the trails. Some areas are unrecognizable, trees broken down and lots of debris everywhere. The tornado sirens went off in the middle of the night and we had to take shelter asap. We spent about an hour sitting in the closet, following the storm on our phone and connecting with friends in the area. We lost power right before it got super load outside and we heard stuff hitting the house!
Our community in Bentonville is strong though! In the past week and a half our community has come together to clean up our neighborhoods, Bike Fest, and the trails after the storm damage. Big shout out to the Trailblazers team - who have been leading the effort out on the trails and doing it so well!
Grateful that we came out fairly okay out of this storm. My thoughts go out to everyone effected and wishing everyone all my best and strength recovering from this.

We Had a great time in Bentonville during Bikefest. My son and I spent half the day Sat. 5/25 sessioning All American Hero. It's a blast to ride. Great to know that you adopted it. I wish we could have stayed and helped with the cleanup. We helped cleanup on our street and decided that with the limited resources, it was best for us to leave a day early. Hope to get back asap.

Prayers for the Bentonville area! This tornado season has been brutal. Nice to see the community coming together to help each other! I hope the insurance process goes smooth for you, I had my roof and cars hit by hail last year so know a little bit of what you are going through.

Anneke thank you so much for posting these updates. For those of us outside of your immediate area there’s a little news or way to hear what’s going on. I was supposed to arrive in Bentonville last Monday right after the storms. Had to reschedule my trip for the Fall. That is a little inconvenience compared to all of the loss in your area. I wish I could be there to help. But I am going to go make a donation right now. You guys are in our thoughts and prayers and we appreciate what you’re doing.

I'm so sorry to hear this! I live in Maine, and we had similar issues with massive flooding. We now have been able to open most of the roads, but more need to lots of work and some bridges are still closed and will need massive help as well. I wish you well, and appreciate the help that you are offering to your community!!
