This looked a cracking nondescript walk surrounded by towns, but almost a wilderness feeling about it.

Whitelees windfarm last time I visited did not make that noise, been to some old farms that the power company bought out and on a day when shadow can be created the turning blades create a horrible atmosphere. Apparently only good for 25yrs before replacement which means some are now nearing that, my wife worked at a hotel 20yrs ago when the windmill contractors stayed there putting in the first masts. But all the same on New years day there were hundreds of people enjoying a walk through the tracks, I kind of dont mind them as long as someone oils them!

Yeah, definitely not that whistling noise for sure. I actually really like the wind farm there. It's such a novelty and find them quite impressive.

Yeah the Bowbeat one up in the Moorfoots, which you can see from Edinburgh, went in around 2000 I think, one of the first, so must be nearing its end now. Will be interesting to see what they do. Those early turbines are so small compared to what they install these days.

Walked through here on the Mary Queen of Scots Way in 2019 - loved the remote feel of the place. More of this please Ben!

Nice walking with you again.. And day out where there is more windmills than people is a a good day. I wonder what they planted in that glen, looked like rowan or maybe lime by the looks.. cheers..

I did a very similar walk in that area only a couple weeks back but decided to leave out White Criech due to the fencing. Also got a surprise finding the two Jimny wrecks.

They've both been there since at least 2009, and very likely earlier than that.

Really enjoying these local walks Ben. It’s been interesting focussing on more local adventures recently. The Ochils isn’t somewhere ive explored too much so looking forward to visiting some of these places once I’m allowed out of Edinburgh! Cheers

Loved it Ben, and as for the stranded Suzuki, it’s just intriguing as to how the hell it got there isn’t it. Wouldn’t you just love to know? 😀🏔🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Another excellent video. I’m always excited to see that you’ve posted one of your videos and may well be my favourite KZbin channel. Have you got any more videos waiting to be posted? Post lockdown, I mean.

Aww, cheers Jonny :) Ain't no post-lockdown videos cos we're still in lockdown ;-) But I do have three more Ochils ones to edit. Two of them particularly snowy and one of them distinctly sunsetty ;-)

Ben, The whole (○vid thing was BS. I was trapped within a 3 mile radius in the city of Glasgow, and I got made redundant. Good to see you highlight the Ochils, my favourite place for hiking.

Truthfully, some remote mountain summits and inaccessible sea stacks and cliffs. And that's about it.

Cheers Darren. I'm really grateful for that comment as I've always chosen not to overlay the vids with soundtracks cos I want to just keep it 'natural'. Plus, who's to say that the music I like will be what you like? Could be really annoying ;-)

There's another wrecked car on nearby Sim's Hill, which I photographed in July of last year. The red one you saw was visible from the same spot. I can email you a couple of photos if you email me at cliveinstepps@hotmail.com I'm glad you admit in this film to poring over maps to discover new routes - a lot of young people would rather be dead than be seen looking at a paper map!

Yeah I found out about it that evening when I got home, after doing some digging online. They were both there in 2009 and were looking old and knackered even then, so have clearly been there a while. I went back two weeks ago actually, in the snow :)
