Well, according to what he himself explained what the song is about on a show, he said he got inspired from the fact that many women suffer from domestic abuse, or abusive relationships not realizing that they deserve better and they should not be treated that way no matter what. And Verbal jint in the mv is a dog but it doesn't mean that being a dog represents a man who is not brave enough or confident. It rather tries to show what it really likes to see a woman treated poorly from a third person perspective.

VJ wrote this song after he watched a TV show about wives getting abused by their husbands. Hence the music video (girl gets abused, VJ is not the new BF). He even explained in an interview that the song is not about a guy trying to seduce/get with a girl who has a boy friend. The song's message is that it is okay to leave an unhealthy relationship and there will be other guys who will treat you right.

My analysis: The girl probably loves her boyfriend (now ex) because she is used to that type of affection. Her father was probably abusive and cheated on her mother often. Young children go through a process of modelling where they watch the way their parents interact and show affection, then mimics that in their future relationships. She is used to watching her mother tolerate the abusive man her father was, therefore she tolerates the abusive man her boyfriend is. It's hard for her to love nonabusive, noncheaters, because she does not feel secure in a relationship with one. The man on the other hand, probably cheats because he is insecure of being in a monogamous relationship. His mother was probably negligent and often away from home, which made him hard to trust a woman's genuine affection. In order to have a safety net, he has sex with many other women to prove his self-worth and escape from the loneliness he felt as a child. But no matter how many women he cheats on or has sex with, it's hard for him to feel at ease, because he does not allow himself to feel secure. Eventually the girl realizes the love she felt for her ex was not true love, but a way for her to gain her self-worth through being in a condition she was used to--in this case an abusive relationship. On the other hand the man turns to substance abuse to fill his loneliness and eventually dies in a drunk car accident. (the last sentence is a speculation of mine)

There's no actual need for a background of having abusive parents, women are attracted to confident men, and there's no greater proof of self-confidence than cheating on your girlfriend in her own bed. Of course, I'm not saying that this has increased her desire to be with him, I'm just saying that it's proof of his general attitude, which would make him appear as a strong, powerful mate, capable of offering sufficient protection and stability, thus making the girl subconsciously attracted to him. We can't tell from the video if this is a special case or if she keeps having these kinds of boyfriends, so there's no way to know if it wasn't just a misstep on her part. Her relationship with her dog would suggest that her need for affection is already fulfilled by her pet and that she might just want to go for sexually attractive boyfriends without looking much into their personality, but this still doesn't hint at a hard childhood, maybe just a lonely one.
