Okay... So, as a female, I don't think his shopping joke was offensive. He used humor to cope, big deal. my grandma died and my sister started making jokes. My friend's grandpa died and she laughed while joking. Both were devastated, but they used humor to cope with it to avoid feelings of depression. It's a normal thing. He apologized, and people continued bringing it up. He did not actually retract his apology, he continued to say he stands with women, he was tired. He has always had mental health issues, and he reached his breaking point. I have too, and I lost one of the most important people in my life as a result. He should be held accountable, but he needs love and support in addition to therapy. He apologized again and said he will see a professional. He apologized for repeating a slur used against him. He isn't a bad person, he just couldn't take it anymore, and that's okay. He needs serious help. I am not excusing his behavior, but I also think the people who are determined to convince others he's a bad person are wrong. He's suffering, and he can't handle it. He took it out on his fans. I took it out on my best friend and sister. I lost my friend and my sister and I will probably never get along again. It's his fault, but it's not at the same time. Because while he chose to say these things and be hurtful, he didn't choose to have a mental breakdown. He may end up needing a mental hospital to get better, but he is trying. He knows what he did wrong, and that is the first step. He is taking responsibility and we should support him through it so he doesn't do anything else he will regret.

People keep defending Beomhan when he’s literally a headache. 1) He’s showed his self-harm scars to his fans on live. Not only is this crazy to do in front of your impressionable fans but you’re treating your minor fans like they are your friends/therapists. Plus seeing other people’s cuts, especially a person you look up to can be triggering. 2) Beomhan literally cause so much stress for his previous agency that they removed him. He was constantly leaking information and did not put much effort into learning Korean at all. 3) Beomhan’s debut track after he got kicked was terrible and he hosted a contest for people to remaster his song because the production was terrible and he didn’t even credit them after the release nor give them the reward he promised. 4) Beomhan’s mental health is none of our business. People keep defending him by saying he’s mentally ill but that is irrelevant. The fans that were attacking him could be mentally ill for all we know. He’s a grown ass man and him crashing out was a CHOICE, AND he did it in public at night. He has no self-awareness. If that was a regular man, he would be deemed crazy but because Beomhan’s an artist he needs to be defended. It’s not our business to diagnose Beomhan to cover up for a grown man’s actions. Embarrassing. Beomhan has blurred that line by showing his cuts and treating his fans like therapists and this is the result. 5) Beomhan made a joke. It was inappropriate, unfunny, and lacked empathy. End of story. People don’t have to like it just because it was under the guise of a joke. Every celebrity received death threats and mean comments. For some demented reason this has become the norm. But you don’t see ANY idol, and most celebrities insulting their fans. They just close their DMs, address the controversy and move on. Beomhan made a choice. Mental health is not an excuse. 6) If you are trying to prove to your female audience that you are not a misogynist, calling them stupid bitches doesn’t help your case and just exposes you for who you truly are. Especially doing that at night, in public, is alarming and scary. It just shows he doesn’t have regard for women’s perspectives. Even if you are mad, a feminist man wouldn’t call a woman a bitch because he views women as humans before considering their genitalia. Respect towards women isn’t something you can take away and give out just when you feel like it because your emotions are hurt.

For the first point, I severely disagree. He maybe shouldn't have done it, but he told his personal story, nothing wrong with that in itself. Didn't deserve hate for that. And crashing out is NOT a choice. I don't agree with his actions at all, but he apologized, said he is going to a better therapist now. He needs to take responsibility and be held accountable for sure, and if he loses fans, it is completely his fault. But he didn't choose to crash out. He needs serious help. I'm not excusing his behavior, but he does. He needs professional help, and he might even need a mental hospital if this continues. The fact "bitch" is still considered derogatory fucks me up. It's not a slur anymore, it's common, and used for all genders. He didn't call women bitches, he called the people sending him death threats and hate bitches. He didn't take away his respect at all, he clarified (even in his retraction post) he respects and stands with females. His company also betrayed his trust, that was mutual. They both were held accountable. He leaked information, they discussed it with him and proceeded to post a statement nothing like what he says they agreed upon. No one used mental health as an excuse. It is something he has issues with, leading to a severe breakdown he needs help for. He shouldn't have done it in public at night, true, but that doesn't show he doesn't respect women
