Beomjin Angelo Kim performing "Lamento di Federico" from Francesco Cilea's opera The Girl from Arles during the third preliminary round of the 2023 Cardiff Singer Of The World competition.
The South Korean tenor received the Curt-Taucher-Preis from Semperoper Dresden, where he was a member of the youth ensemble, with roles including Ismaele (Nabucco), Victorin (Die tote Stadt) and Jüngling (Moses und Aron).He has performed Ernesto (Don Pasquale) in Karlsruhe and Oldenburg, Tamino at the Semperoper and Steurmann (Der fliegende Holländer) at the Daegu Opera House. Concert performances include Haydn‘s Die Schöpfung, Mozart’s Spatzenmesse and Verdi’s Requiem.
