Genetically Modified You should read up on the rules in Parliament and you will quickly find that the speaker is going by the rules as the deal has already been voted on and today’s attempt at a vote on the same deal is a no no . For all Bercow's rhetoric and gesturing as to how impartial he was on the matter of the Brexit debate at the time, this was later debunked by Bercow himself in interviews post leaving his role as Speaker. Whereby, he fully admitted to doing what he could to ensure Brexit was dead in the water, and we remained part of the EU! I am stunned that through his admissions, he has not been prosecuted for bringing the role of Speaker and the House in to disrepute, in his role as an impartial adjudicator? Also, the speed in which he crossed to the Labour benches, you'd have been forgiven for believing he was already a Labour MP? So glad this vile little man has now gone!

It's democracy playing out. The government is trying to trick Parliament to end up with a no deal and and Parliament is trying to block them from doing that because it doesn't want a no deal and I think most of the country don't want a no deal because it will harm them. The only people who would benefit from it are, the very wealthy, corporate tax avoiders, hedge fund managers and those who gamble against the UK's performance in a practice called 'shorting'. There are plenty of those backing the Tory no dealers.
@JustUsFlyers

@@heliotropezzz333 Or, to someone who isnt completely biased, Parliament are trying to block the Government from implementing a decision to leave the EU, that was voted on by the very people they represent! @heliotropezzz333
@heliotropezzz333 4 жыл бұрын
@@JustUsFlyers The majority of Parliament is trying to block a no deal exit. They don't trust Johnson not to be using this deal as a ruse to get to no deal because that's what Johnson and an influential group of Tories really want, whereas the general public in the Referendum weren't given a choice of deal or no deal. In fact the Brexiteers Leave Manifesto at the time said we'd have a lovely deal when we left (pages 3 and 30 if you care to look it up). SOME MPs are trying to stop leave by any means, that's true, but not the majority and most of them are representing remain constituencies or have realised that there will be no gain to the UK in leaving the EU considering they have had more information available since the Referendum. Also current surveys indicate that the majority of the population would not be for no deal and some indicate the majority would be for remain now. People are allowed to change their minds in a democracy. What we're witnessing is democracy playing out in a kind of Brexit/deal/no deal/remain death struggle - a complicated game of chess.
@JustUsFlyers

ja alas Not necessarily. I argue that the circumstances and the substance behind Brexit has indeed changed, which means that putting a question on Brexit to the public again would not be a repetition of an earlier vote. For example, in 2016 no one understood the ramifications on Northern Ireland of Brexit. The government also had a majority as of 2016. The negotiations had not deteriorated as of 2016. Boris was not PM as of 2016. A great deal has changed and a great deal of forecasts have come to light that now means the circumstances of a second vote would be different. The substance of a second vote would also be different. Now, instead of asking whether the UK leaves or stays, a referendum would ask ‘do we leave with Boris’ deal or remain’. Boris’ deal is the only one on the table; it’s either his deal or no deal (which parliament has ruled out) or no Brexit. The question is different, the substance is different, the circumstances are different.
