Yes, the modular chassis system is for military contracts. the APX was designed as Beretta's hail mary for the US Modular Handgun System program in case they were unable to convince the military to adopt M9A3s (the military didn't even bother to test it, unfortunately). I believe it is currently the sidearm for the Italian military and several other nations. Not sure if you saw my comment on the benchtop video, but the takedown lever can be removed by rotating it back to the locked position after the slide has been removed. if you look a the right side of the takedown lever you can see that it is keyed to prevent it from coming all the way out in any other position.

I know we were all rooting for you to shoot the swinging target successful!!! Anyone who shoots on a regular basis with a compact firearm knows it is not easy to shoot a moving target, especially if you wear glasses or contacts and the target is moving away from you and the whole world is watching. I shoot much better when no one is watching!!! (HUMOR) Enjoy your honest straight forward reviews!!

I have owned all of the APX current models and I love them. I just recently sold a friend my A1 Compact that you were shooting, now I want it back because I never shot it. Thank you for this review. Beretta APX is great firearm. One other gun that is also over-looked is the SAR 9, it is also great.

Thank you. Part of the boringly-repetitive range protocol is it strips away our ability to be biased positively or negatively. The guns can speak for themselves. There may be things we like or don't like, but the performance tells of the gun's potential regardless.

Absolutely great review. Huge thanks. Miss Teya is a real trooper with the swinging target test. But she proves she can definitely shoot very well with the other tests. My youngest daughter chose this pistol as her first edc. She doesn't like the Shield, P365 size "micro" guns. Her favorite gun that I have for training has always been my M&P40C 1.0. She wanted that basic grip dimension. The price on this Beretta and my confidence in Beretta drew her to this over the more expensive S&W, Sig & Walther options. We are all extremely impressed with it overall. We don't care for the take down. But the ergos and overall shooting experience is top shelf for sure. Once we all learned the trigger we really like it. Thank you again for the encouraging review. I am more comfortable with her decision.

Liked: "This is not my favorite game to play." BUT SHE DID 😂 Nice accuracy test shooting y'all. Having a man and a woman's perspective on the same gun in the same video: priceless. Even though you're each only a sample size of one it's still, IMO, great for the community. Good on ya!

In my experience with the apex-platform is that it was made to compete with all the world guns as a mild test I carried in my pool for a summer I have several defensive firearms and I trust this one most if I’m in inclement weather with submersion I do believe the army should’ve went with the apex platform . The disassembly can be tough if you are going to change the chassis . It’s a sleeper for sure I bought the new apex a1 at launch I got the full size as I already have the 92fs , apex centurion, px4storm , and apex a1 fs the field strip is easy the full takedown can be a bit frustrating but not un bearable. Quick note you don’t need to take the chassis out all the time either so it’s take down is simple rotate takedown lever by pressing the opposite side while twisting the lever it can be done in a rapid manner with no drama

Wish I could find one that works like the ones in all the reviews. Found (1) compact at a gun store and it had the crappiest trigger I've ever tested on a pistol. Mushy pull & release with side to side wiggle as a bonus. Made my Smith Shield Gen 1 trigger feel high quality in comparison.
@killacoiler17077 ай бұрын
In all fairness it is manufactured by the oldest firearms manufacturer in the world. With 498 years of continual service under their belt one would surely assume they would know a thing or two about manufacturing a quality firearm. The interesting thing about Beretta is that their pricing still remains very reasonable when you consider the average price of a premium brand polymer pistol from other long term players in the game. I have seen the APX models retailing in the high 300s to low 400 dollar range which makes it an impeccable value. On another note, I have always found Beretta pistols to be ergonomically pleasing and easy to shoot. I believe that there is some brilliance behind their designs that seems to instill a higher degree of competency in anyone who picks up one of their firearms and inherently makes them a better shooter overall.
@johndeere1951a9 ай бұрын
Great analysis as usual. Polymer Flexible Flyer's and the cursed dingus triggers. I'm collecting metal Sig Sauer now after tasting polymer. Best of breed polymer are VP9's, PDP's, even Steyr with their adjustable back straps and side panels. It's all about ergonomics after all. Right coast 48.5 miles from Sig Sauer HQ.☮️🇺🇲

Nice review. I have the full size model that I placed an insanely low bid on and won (pre covid). At that time, I picked up 12 magazines at nine bux each(!) for factory 17rd. I guess NOBODY was buying them at that time. Gun and 15 mags total was about three fifty. The trigger on mine is stellar. As in CZ or Canik clean with a very short reset. Have you tried the full-size to know how this compact compares?

As usual, great reviews- I never miss any! I had a Beretta APX Centurion compact. Had. It's the only gun I've ever sold. I NEVER knew where the gun was hitting. Shooting it, was fine, no malfunctions, the trigger was decent, but even with splatter targets, I just could never shoot it well. I never did find out why. All my other pistols, are quite good. I am hesitant to purchase another APX, I'd rather focus on another gun, like a Grand Power K 100. P.S., I now have about 300 rounds through my Q100- it's the most accurate gun I own, but it stovepipes a LOT, with all kinds of ammo- all brass... making it unsuitable for EDC. I'm hoping it breaks in after a third range trip- but it really shouldn't be doing that. My Q1 does not suffer from the same issue.

The chassis removal is super easy. As for why take it out if you're not changing the grip module, deep cleaning. Popping out the chassis and letting it sit in some clp while cleaning the grip frame is great. Having owned stainless guns forever you can see dirt in tight spaces. You don't see it in black polymer guns but knowing it's there drives me crazy. 😂

Anticipation... when I was younger and much more stupid I didn't anticipate. I didn't anticipate a single shot in 1990, 1991 or 1992. 27 years later, much heavier and wiser, I believe any shot can end up on a huge explosion with steel fragments flying everywhere and I just can't stop flinching.

8:51 What does slide "bottom-out" mean🤔... Is that a car metaphor, like when the shocks compress all the way u feel the car hit the bottom, so the gun spring compress all the way and the sli3hit the frame.
@GBGuns8 ай бұрын
Great description, yes the slide travels as far back as physically possible and comes to a stop hitting the rear most point of travel. This impact is generally where most of your perceived recoil comes from. If it can be avoided the gun feels like it shoots softer.
