$479 is a pretty sweet deal for what you get. The RDO version of the original APX if you want it to be optics ready is already more expensive than that. Not only is it cheaper than the original RDO APX, this comes with all the new features and it's a recently released gun.
@Steadfast_Collective2 жыл бұрын
Couldn’t have said it better myself! Considering the rate of inflation this is a great option for many!
@STF342 жыл бұрын
I purchase this gun yesterday. According to Beretta they do not provide a optic plate and you cannot obtain one for free either. You have to order it from them and they are $50.00 on their website. I’m waiting and hopefully they change that to provide one plate at least. Currently I’m using an optic plate from another APX I have. All the optics plates from any previous APX work with this one (excluding the A1 Carry).
@JacksonWalter7352 жыл бұрын
@@STF34 I had no idea. Wished they would have included a free optic like they do for their M9A4. I hate that they followed CZ, HK. FN, Sig, and so forth. For an optics ready pistol, not having it comes with plates like the M&P Core and IWI Masada sucks. At least give us a free plate like Walther does and their method still saves the company money 😭 even C&H precision doesn't make anything for Beretta so we can't even get the high quality metal plates if we wanted to over the polymer ones these gun companies sell. Thanks for letting us know though.
@MrImOriginal2 жыл бұрын
@@JacksonWalter735 It makes sense not to include plates though. If you're going to include plates, you may as well give the customer all of them and if you're going to do that, the gun gets more expensive. Also what are you going to do with all of the plates that you don't use? Give them to someone else who bought the same gun and also already has the plate he needs because he also got all of them? You aren't going to interchange optics so you only need the one that you need. When you factor in the cost of the gun and the plate you need, you're still at a reasonable price point. Edit. It's kinda like apple ditching the chargers with their phones. Sure it's a dick move but it does make sense logistically, economically, and environmentally. If nothing else, its a conscious effort to reduce waste
@JacksonWalter7352 жыл бұрын
@@MrImOriginal that was just one of the options I suggested. The other one was to ship out a free plate like they were previously doing in their other optics ready pistol.

I prefer the more aggressive look and feel of my APX Centurion slide. It doesn't look like every other striker fired, polymer frame 9 in the market. When you held the new APX up with the G19, they looked so similar from the back that it's ridiculous. Beretta could have added a red dot plate option to the old design, made it completely ambidextrous like the new one and saved a lot of retooling in the factory.
@shikymjackson35557 ай бұрын
Not sure if you shoot this often, but you should definitely do a follow up review. Especially to see if the trigger did lighten up from that 5.5-6 lb pull.

I have the previous version of the APX along with a 92, and I have to say I love the APX. I like most of the changes they've made, but I wish they would have stuck with the old slide serrations. They don't look the best, but they work really well.
@jvz14482 жыл бұрын
@@DeplorableBitterClinger never handled the apx but the serrations on the new version look like they will work nicely. Not going to lie the old serrations were extremely ugly to me and one of the reasons I never gave the gun a second look lol.
@DeplorableBitterClinger2 жыл бұрын
@@jvz1448 The new ones look better, and probably work well enough. But the old ones were absolutely fantastic from the functional end. Easily the best I've encountered on a pistol. I will admit that even if the new ones don't work quite as well, changing them was probably the right move for sales.
@jvz14482 жыл бұрын
@@DeplorableBitterClinger indeed. I’ll admit I may buy one now that they look better. I won’t buy a good looking gun that sucks but I probably won’t buy an ugly gun that is great(although I’ve owned some Glocks lol) unless it was head and shoulders above the rest. Too many good choices now days that look great and function at a high level. No excuse for ugly guns, although at APX price point can’t complain too much.

Note on the trigger: assuming the slide internals are compatible with A0 parts, you can get a Galloway precision reduced power striker and steel striker guide rod, and that takes about half a pound off the trigger pull and smooths it a bit. I've still had mine function with even the crappiest steel and aluminum bulk. Also, if you really want to drop some cash you can import a TR-1 competition trigger from Italy like I did. That brings the trigger pull and feel pretty close to a PPQ or VP9.

@@fishfood8719 PDP literally didn't exist when I did this, VP9 would have still cost me almost $300 more than the APX AND the TR-1 trigger did, and I didn't like the PPQ. @Steadfast_Collective2 жыл бұрын

@@InvidiousIgnoramus my full size and compact have the same length slide rails. I don't see any change in the interchangability. If you put a full size slide on a Compact/Centurion grip you're going to have a gap at the front of the dust cover with exposed recoil spring.
@InvidiousIgnoramus2 жыл бұрын
@@funkla65 right, but you can't put a full size slide on a compact frame at all, I would assume because of the recoil spring length.
@funkla652 жыл бұрын
@@InvidiousIgnoramus IDK, mine will go together in that combo. Can't put the Compact slide on the Full Size, though, as the Compact's spring assembly is too large in diameter to pass through the frame and seat on the take down pin. I'm not going to shoot that combo, though, as the Compact frame isn't designed to adequately control the positioning of the Full Size recoil spring. And from the looks of the new FS A1, although they changed the type of spring, the spring assembly dimensions appear unchanged. With the gap at the front of the dust cover, they aren't going to intend the two slides to interchange.

Biggest mistake on this pistol it will need to be sent to a gunsmith if you want a lazer site. That makes the price point not so good, when you can by a Canik that is setup from the manfacture with a better trigger for less than it would cost to have have this pistol set up for lazer sites.

Why would you need to send it to a gunsmith exactly?

A Glock 17 would be more comparable in size

Yeah, barrel is a little shorter than a 17. The back portion of the slide extends further back, which makes it look as long
