Thanks for posting. I inherited one of these when my dad died. Now I can take it apart and clean it!

Thanks, I needed that. Just inherited up my own, sans holster, with two mags and it hasn't had a cleaning since 1946 (according to gramps).

My Dad brought one home from WWII that he got from an Italian pow. Had the holster and all. Was in pristine condition. We had fun with it at the range. My Dad ended up selling it much to my disappointment.

You make it appear as though the model designation is ‘Gardone’. It is a Beretta model 1934. The Beretta plant is in the town of Gardone, VT. Italy.

I have a model 1935 which was made in 1940 which is basically the same except for the caliber which is .32. This is a very good tutorial on a simple and reliable firearm. There must be thousands of these old berettas which are still working.

You are amazing. I have a 1934 Brevet I inherited from my dad. I watched your video, pausing it as I went through, as I cleaned it. Thank you so much. I did not want to go shoot it until I knew it was clean. I am getting some Strike Hold, but for now I used One Shot Cleaner & Dry Lube I got from my local gun store. They said it would do the same thing. Thank you so much for your videos. I am subscribing after I finish this comment, because there are others I need to learn to clean.

Great video! Thanks so much for sharing. My father left me one of these handguns, that was manufactured in 1957, and is in mint condition. Having only used S&W and Glock handguns, Baretta's were unfamiliar to me. Your tutorial was a big help to me! I only wish there was a way to either change out or modify the trigger to make it either wider or flatter. Being so narrow and having such a strong trigger pull it hurts my badly arthritic finger when firing it.

Hello, My Friend asked me to clean one of these for him. It hasn't been cleaned in decades probably and has some surface rust but overall seems to be in good condition. It looks identical to the one you use in the video but is dated 1958. Your video has been very helpful in getting this field stripped and cleaned. I'd like to disassemble the frame just a little more to clean it in more detail. It doesn't look like this would be hard to do but was wondering if you know of a good video that details the frame disassembly.

Hi. Great video!!! I have one that I have had a very hard time finding any information on. Mine is the Beretta 1934 but it is Nickel or Chrome with PB on the Black grips. It has the following engraved on left side " P. Beretta cal. 9 Corto-M-1934-Brevet Gardone V.T. 1942 XX " BG on side of mag release. This pistol is in excellent condition. I just can't find any good information on it. It's definitely not the standard 1934 and it doesn't have gold engraving so I get conflicting information about it and its value. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

9 corto stand for short 9mm bullet,or 380acp.marks on the side means 1934 is year of start production gun,,and 1942 menas its produced that year,and numeral number are for fasist years.musollini calendar start 20.10.1922 and that roman number menas that your gun is produce in 1942.PB stand for pietrro beretta.fother of the gun

@Vedran Causevic thanks for that information. I know the RE stands for Italian Army. The BG at very bottom of grip , near mag release ...I haven't figured that out or the value. Someone told me it was just standard issue but unsure about that? I read somewhere in a book and was told by an old timer that the nickel or chrome like finish was not a standard issue because of the "mirror-like" affect. He explained that the Italian Army wouldn't be carrying mirrors around in battle?? That makes sense to me but I'm no collector. I have seen and read about very similar finished ones that were special editions that were engraved in gold writing & designs.
@dgmenace732 жыл бұрын
The old man went on to tell me that he thought and was sure he had read that the style I had was issued to the Italian Army but to very high rank officers and to what would be our (USA) Military Police, MP's? Its been very difficult to find even a picture of one like mine in a gun book or reading online. I thought it was of high value but I could be wrong, it may be no more valuable than the standard blued/black finish Beretta 1934 's. I wish I knew....lol. I don't want to shoot it a lot and make the value go down. I've only shot maybe 50 rounds. If you can find anything, please let me know or send a link. I have pictures of articles and pics of pages in books but none sound identical, just the standard and the chrome & gold. I've owned it for 20yrs and kept it in a case. I was going to try to sell to a collector or trade for a couple newer style 9mm or other pistols. I think now that I will just keep it and buy a 9mm that fits my big hands but heavy...any suggestions? Thanks again and stay safe.

I've got one of these. Dad's war bring back. Unlike other Berettas I have owned this one is not such an excellent gun. The trigger weighs in the neighborhood of twenty pounds, making it basically unshootable. If anyone can offer a clue how to correct this, I'd be grateful.
