Awesome review and great presentation covered here. I've yet to see one in person, but hopefully get a chance to shoot one someday soon. Still love my DT-10's though. Thanks for a terrific vid on a great new gun from Beretta. With as many DT-11's we saw during last Olympics, makes you wonder if this gun will soon be making an appearance. Not cheap, but a lot of gun for the money. Watching you shoot in slo-mo-, theres so little recoil, its amazing. Barrel technology has come so far. Beretta has taken this technology to the next level for sure !!!!

What an intriguing shotgun. When you used the term synergy, I'm sure many people "flashed" to the Browning due to the design and line. 😆 Please, let it be known that there is no comparison between them. While I do like the DT11, the slimmer profile makes it much easier for 2nd target acquisition and the texture at the rear of the action really eliminates glare. People may not like the profile or the price but the SL2 is a certified demon on the clay ground. Thanks for sharing this gun in its natural environment. 😀

I just picked mine up on Saturday and went straight to the range, it’s a work of art for sure. My only gripe is the optical illusion where the stock meets the receiver, it appears the line don’t match up but they do. I just wish it was more obvious that it wasn’t a mistake

I think the 120 year old Army & Navy 16 gauge I have just handed on to a young friend to use and care for in the future and which he still uses for driven game with great effect might just beat that. Interesting to see that SL2 in 120yrs time.

Price point is bonkers, or priced at those with more money than sense. I could understand if it had custom hand engraving. The next big issue is reliability and having to deal with GMK, if you know you know. Then there’s Beretta Italy, try dealing with them and you’ll know. Some of the SL2’s I’ve seen have also had awful wood grades, which is again ridiculous at this price point, to be fair this one doesn’t look too bad, others I’ve seen in the flesh (and online) have looked like planks of pine, all attention to detail at factory and the couldn’t care less approach, if you want one, this is what you get, don’t like it don’t buy it. The Reality at this price point there are far better and arguably cheaper guns. there are also plenty of guns out there sub £2k that will hit anything you point it at, look at any of the top 10 shooters in the UK, they all shoot mid range browning and beretta. SL2 will be heavily reduced with second hand/ex demos will be even cheaper (still massively overpriced, but cheaper). Can’t help but feel beretta missed a trick here, they should have looked at the DT12 project. 🤔 Guess what’s coming next 🤦🏻‍♂️. Great vid as always guys and garlands is an awesome ground 🇬🇧 ❤

I completely agree with everything written in this comment. Anyone who pays $22,000 for this shotgun is of the ilk “ I’ve got one and you don’t.” To make an argument that this shotgun provides ANY true technical advantages over many less expensive competition shotguns is hogwash.

@@the45er agree, and to say you can spec better wood if you want to for more money is shocking at this price, zero engraving, poor wood, good gun for maybe 12k. maybe. And yes dealing with GMK should be considered when purchasing. Be shocked if it's a success..

Based on your review I think Beretta has got this right. And I like the look. But also based on your review this is not the gun for me as I’m not a much of a ‘shot’. I would however like to try an SL2 and SL5 someday.

As someone who likes a traditional looking gun, I find myself strangely seduced by the visual appeal of the SL2. I don’t need one, I certainly don’t deserve one, but if I had the money I would buy one!

@eastfieldgunroom i'd argue they haven't spent a great deal, they are masters at slapping a fancy name on a forging process, its a frankenstein gun, its nice and will be a great gun, but realistically it doen't cost them 10k to make , its not like automotive with eletrical etc

@eastfield Gunroom, steel shot proofed, let's agree to disagree and according to me you should make it more clear. What I see the barrels are stamped with CIP S, which means it is proofed for superior steel shot. HOWEVER it does not has the Fleur de lis-stamp which means it isn't approved for high performance steel. Correct me if I am wrong!?
