Bergara vs Tikka | Bolt-Action Rifle Showdown!

That Bergara aftermarket stock is a thing of beauty. It’s probably heavy or has other drawbacks, but I’m a sucker for anything that gracefully mixes old and new school. This “thing” goes back to when I was a kid and Ruger first introduced the rubber and wood grips on the GP100. This is purely an aesthetic thing.

I own both Bergara offers more but I prefer Tikka. Pros and cons below. Bergara Hunter Now cerakoted Smooth bolt Great stock Metal bottom metal Light adjustable trigger Good recoil pad Remington 700 compatibility Button rifled Tikka t3x lite Light Cold hammer forged barrel that tends to be more accurate. Better but heavier trigger External magazine Crap butt pad Replaceable grip angle Smooth but sloppy action 70 degree bolt throw The reason I prefer tikka Weight Trigger Barrel Magazine

bergara chassis are made of injection mold polymer with strength inserts of aluminum rods down the length of the stock

I'm wanting a Bergara B14 Timber in 30-06 w/24" barrel. I grew up nice classic wood stock rifles that had never had problems. My dad, grandfathers and 2 older brothers, experiences of numerous rifles, not one was ever a problem. Rain, sleet, snow and summer is a vast array of weather. There are many nice stocks that are not the classic design but the Bergara Timber is beauty to my eyes and shoots wonderful from all I've seen. Thank you for this video. I really kinda like that aftermarket stock on your Bergara, its got me thinking.

the Bergara barrel looks very substantial It can be surprising how the barrel design and execution can impact accuracy

Good comparison video! Hard to beat either one of these in their price range. I looked at both brands and went with the Bergara Ridge SP with 18” barrel in 6.5 creedmoor. Liked it so much I bought another B14 in 22-250. I dropped the 6.5 into an MDT LSS gen 2 chassis and it’s awesome. And I dropped the 22-250 into an Oryx chassis. Both guns have a little weight to them but for around here it’s a non issue. We’re not hiking miles and up mountains.

Do they make a conversion kit for bergara rifle that have a hinge plate? I’d like to change it to a detachable mag if possible? Another great video by the way👍🏻
