I have the xl4 tent and it's great. regarding your bed and cold situation I would get yourself another carpet for the bedroom as it helps keep to keep the cold feom rising. get rid of the airbeds as the air inside gets cold at night which will come up into your bags. use camp beds instead so your away from the cold floor also use quality fishing sleeping bags preferably 4 to 5 season bags. they can be a little expensive but u will be nice and warm...have fun !!

@@CraigFamilyBlog OMG they are a game changer! We have a double with a thing, self inflating mattress on top. So comfortable, no issue with cold, no deflation problems, or ending up on the floor when your other half gets up & big bonus is the extra storage space underneath them

Would recommend a SIM, the Shangri-La II 15 double if you have the space, a real game-changer for sleeping compared to an air bed.

We purchased the Berghaus sim. Not quite 15cm luxury, but certainly better than where we were!

Lovely set up. I have been using camping cots because all the airbeds I buy always seem to develop a hole. A good cot will last a lot longer. Happy camping!

@@CraigFamilyBlog I have tried every camping bed you can think of... by far the best are self inflating mattresses. The thicker (10cm+). I have the exped megamat duo+ but they are all pretty similar. they can go straight on the floor but I put mine on decathlon bed bases which roll up to nothing and are brilliant

Suggestion for sleeping bag I have just been away in the Yorkshire dales for 3 days it was raining and cold on the first night I have a Westlake Dewpoint 4L and I was snug as a bug , I would go for the 4xl for 2 people though. Hope that helps.

Hello, me again! Sorry one more question - you have a little lantern dangling in the porch, however on our porch there’s no clip or anything to attach it with on the beam. Can you let me know what you did to attach a lantern in there? Thanks in advance!

Literally just ordered the air porch after we got back from our first trip using our Air 8.1 and I showed this video to my wife :). The tour of your setup literally translated into a shopping list for us! Where did you get the king poles from can I ask? Seems essential to prop the porch door open.

Ahh yay! Glad you enjoyed it. Our shopping list grow every time 🙈 The king poles are actually vango adjustable 180-220 king poles. We got them in a bargain bucket thing in go outdoors. We’ve looking at getting a second set for our air shelter too! They make the space so much bigger, and a great shelter 🥰 Just waiting for a good deal! Have fun!

@@CraigFamilyBlog I too have the air 8 but without the carpet. Mine is shoe-horned into a Toyota C HR with a roof box, but I have to take photos of it packed so I no how to re-pack it when we leave! Very tidy layout btw...
