As much as I like watching you two react to Zappa, seeing youngsters playing his music is equally exciting for old farts like me. And the fact they had so many musicians playing only added to the richness of his music, I figured you would get a kick out of this. Glad to see music schools are teaching and playing his music, it keeps the legacy alive.

They didn’t capture Frank’s spirit, no one could, even Dweezil. But they did grab the spirit of youth. They played with intensity and inspiration. I bet no one took this as just another school assignment. I hope that they are changed forever, like many of us have.

Being a Rhode Island guy, I have made journets ao the Berklee area. It's so good to see these future classical masters putting in so much effort to cover these numbers. Not only played beautifully, but the originality in structuring the segues is stunning. I found this video long ago, maybe during the covid time at home.

So very happy that you folks finally got around to reviewing this (and hopefully attracting more attention to this seamless arrangement and phenomenal performance). As has been said before by a few commenters, this really choked me up the first time I saw it, and still brings tears to my eyes after several dozen viewings. Consider that NONE of these "kids" were even alive concurrent to FZ, never mind when he wrote these songs (in a couple of cases 50+ years ago!!). [Side note: This month (July, 2022) marks exactly 50 years since the release of the timeless Waka/Jawaka. Who in 1972 was listening to music from 1922?!!] One more thing that REALLY needs to be emphasized is the sheer number of COUNTRIES these "kids" represent (check out the "Show More" on the original video). The rockin'-sockin' lead vocalist/initial conceptualist/producer hails from Chile, the finger-tapping lead guitarist from Italy, the keyboardist/arranger also from Italy, the flautist (who tacks on a tasty little Hermeto Pascoal-like riff at the beginning of Inca Roads 👍) from Puerto Rico, the harmonizing scat singing (Peaches) backup vocalist from Russia, even the string section shines from (count 'em!) EIGHT different countries. This is a TRULY international performance (a damn shame they ain't touring 😢), AND many if not most of these "kids" will be carrying home with them the seeds of FZ's influence on virtually everything they do. Sooner or later it's bound to bubble to the surface. Simply wonderful! 👏👏👏

I play blues harp and used to play at a blues jam near Berklee, Wally's Bar. They used to have the longest continuous running jam, even continuing when they changed addresses. It was a Monday night tradition lots of Boston cats catching up with each other. Every now and then, I would get elboed, "Deese kids dat just walked in are all Berklee. Wat'll ya hear dis!" I had been playing longer than they had been alive, but it was wise just to sit back and let them do what they had learned to do so well!!

I know they've had them in Czechoslovakia, Frank was actually appointed by president Vaclav Hamel as their "special Ambassador to the West on Trade Culture And Tourism" in 1990. There's a street in Germany named Frank Zappa- Strasse, and a bronze bust of him on a ten-foot pillar in Vilnius, Lithuania plus asteroid 3834 is officially known as "Zappafrank"

It is an enormous shame that the USA which is home for modern advancements in music with jazz/rock and roll/rock/hip hop/rap....but she does not celebrate her culture ..and a champion of change such as Zappa only comes along every now and then...but as per the rules he was black banned in his own country while at the same time behind the iron curtain he was a god like figure and one just has to look at his arrival in the newly formed Czech republic from the Soviet hold...tens of thousands cheered as he left his plane for the airport proper..Even though these people did not speak English as a first language they were cultural open to music...like a child is to music..Why do we go to our lowest common denominator as our music standard..watch this 7 year old listen to echidna's arf by Zappa and unconciously allows his mind to ride the crazy train... no bias kzbin.info/www/bejne/mputdoudba-ljNU or kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5DQd3hrYrCXZrs

I echo the comments of others about Frank being introduced to these younger audiences, can only be good. Berklee and the other places do nothing for me though, just factories producing skilled but sanitised musicians and consider them the same as what Frank thought of "classical musicians". I find music like this, and I include the Zappa Band in this, has as much soul as a block of concrete. They play the right notes but so much is missing. I think of it like non alcoholic beer....it tastes the same but you know it's wrong!!!!!!!

ha ha... George Duke sang Inca Roads with Napolean... but principal voice is George, however in the version you saw live by Dweezil Zappa had Napolean singinG Inca Roads. Zomby Woof is sang by Frank and a guy named Ricky Lancelotti, but that part of the song that they sing here is sang by Ricky... not Frank. And Live it was Nappy or Bobby Martin or Ray White that would sing it depending what year.

It's always refreshing to see young people delve into classics from any genre. I am especially fond of the output from Paul Green's school of rock, which instructs kids between 8 and 18 in over 200 locations in the US and 50 more overseas. They have at least 12 different versions of "Inca Roads" alone on KZbin. Waooo!!!....Congratulations my friends Dan & Sifa!! ...I want invite you to give us your opinion, like music lovers, reacting to who is considered the best singer of the world...His name is Dimash Kudaibergen, a young singer who handle 7 octaves and 3 semitones of vocal range (An alien)...He has been singing since he was 5 years (he is 28 now) and he can sing in more than 15 languages...But if you decide to react to Dimash for the first time, please don't do it with his most recent songs ... I recommend that you go to the year 2017 and react to the song that made him a global idol ... I mean the performance he did of the famous French song called "SOS D'un Terrien en Détresse", when he participated in the famous Chinese reality show The Singer in that year 2017 ... With that performance Dimash earned the reputation of being the best singer on the planet, so I recommend you start with that one...You have to be prepared because you are likely to receive a flood of views, comments and new subscribers....And I have to give you a warning: Never react to The World Best videos, because they deceived him and treated him very badly.!...I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Dimash....Here you have the best high quality video of Dimash performing S.O.S.
