Great work! I'm running Berlin this Fall 2024 and I'm looking forward to the event because it'll be my redemption race following a very hard London Marathon in April. I can't wait to see more of your journeys!

Huge congratulations, I love how much Jack was supporting you even though she was struggling. You can never be disappointed with finishing a marathon. It takes determination and courage to even get up and start. Thanks for sharing this video and your honest thoughts xx🎉

I have seen your Vacation Race video and Jack, your Chicago video. Love both of you. You’re great. I’m going shooting for under 6 hours in Chicago. I’ve been watching as many videos on the Chicago race and marathoning as I can. Chicago will be my last marathon. Thanks to both of you for this and the other videos. Both of you are as about as real as it can get in showing the true Spirit of the Marathon and running. I’m 72 and I think I’ve got one more, albeit slow, one in me. You both help my mental preparation. Thank you and bless you both.

All of my respect to both of you. This is an incredible achievement.... I would have ran this marathon last year, but because of an injury i couldn't be at the starting line. So i will participate this year, and i am so excited already. Your video gives a very good insight of the run and motivates alot. Lexi, you not giving up during this run is so inspiring! Keep up the running and the hard work!

I just found your channel after recommended by Rise and Run. 😉 I am signed up for my first marathon in October and after watching you two experience Berlin, I know a marathon is tough to endure. But you both show so much heart and determination that kept pushing you both to the end. My heart goes out to you both for the incredible accomplishment and the inspiration you are to so many. Thank you!!!

Congratulations. I have not run this one yet, but your video convinced me to register (for 2023 or 2024). I have run several marathons (my last one was WDW 2022 marathon) and I can relate to the emotions that we are going thru at our first marathon (and all the others to be honest). You ARE marathoners... and should be proud of such an accomplishment. Keep living your dreams... and remember, training is the hard part, the race is your reward. Never give up !!!

I'm sorry. We have no idea. We were with a running travel tour company called Marathon Tours, and they provided a meal the day before the race and a celebration buffet after the race for dinner.

Your vlog is totally inspiring. It's not easy, I literally learned how to run about age 33, and after 1 year training I barely did 10 km personal best in 1 hour. I can't imagine run a marathon, maybe in next 2 years. I admire both of you guys have a such an amazing experience in Berlin Marathon. Congrats :)

Curious, how did you get your medal even though not getting to the finish line?

They had a tent in the finisher's area that you could show your run tracker to, and you would get your medal. It just didn't have an official time.

So I ran the Berlin marathon 2022, I was injured going into it but I didn’t want to cancel so I pushed on. I was in pain, had to DNF around mile 14. I was hopping on 1 leg back to US the next day. Immediately went to ER, and was diagnosed with left Tibia fracture! I guess I got the ultimate souvenir from Berlin, but I will definitely have to go back to finish the marathon now. Hopefully I will get a second chance.

So sorry to hear you got injured! I'm glad you were able to realize that your overall health was important to run for the long term. Berlin will always be there :) I hope you're able to heal up really fast!

We stayed at the Berlin Marriott and loved it! (we have a hotel tour video if you want to watch!). It wasn't too far from the start/finish area, and it was right next to the metro station. Very convenient, nice area, and a great race hotel!

I got into the lottery for Berlin this year and I really enjoyed seeing your recap! I am always a little bit nervous about the expo and starting area for races I haven't done before, so this really helped. You two captured it so well. I will keep in mind what Jack said about not getting a time goal, how can you be disappointed when you're running a marathon? I am sure I will watch this video again when we come closer to this year's event. I got a time goal in mind and it's making me a bit nervous. You both have done a huge accomplishment!

just stumbled over this video and appreciate the effort you guys put in at that race: 👍 but: both if you clearly were not ready for a full marathon? if just finishing it is the challenge than the goal is set to high. shorter races with more training and less gear shoud be the focus at least for the next two years!
@daisukematsuo27932 жыл бұрын
I disagree with you, goal set too high? That makes no sense! Less gear? What do you mean? As in running with camelbak? What does that have to do with anything? I am sure they posted this video knowing they were going to get some criticism from people like you, which shows more courage than you.
@daisukematsuo27932 жыл бұрын
It was her first marathon, how is just finishing too high of a goal? What you are saying still makes no sense to me!

Congratulations to you both! I deferred twice on Berlin. I have until 12/31/21 to decide whether to pay again. I am thinking of paying and running Berlin 2022. Is there any advice you can give me?
@passporttorun3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I would say definitely do it! We do recommend staying at a hotel close to the start/finish lines because it was so convenient. We stayed at the Berlin Marriott Hotel and loved it:) It had free breakfast, it was really close to the start/finish line, and was near a lot of great restaurants. Plus, it was really easy getting around Berlin with the use of the trains, scooters, and whatnot.
