Hypnotic! :-) I have to say that, although I'm not a fan of Behringer synths (too harsh compared to the Moogs they're trying to imitate), you got some good sounds out of this one. The only issue I had (which may just be my seasonal sinus problems, lol) was that at first, the Crave was overpowering the keyboard. I thought the perfect balance was achieved at 4:16, but again, this is very subjective. :-)

Hi Gene! I had my Microkorg in storage for a long time, and was missing the beauty of the A36 preset. But after listening to the track I noticed that the MK was way duller than what I needed for a 4-pole filter (most of my other analogue synths have only a 12db/ocatave filter, or rarely use the 24sb option), and the two instruments were fighting in the low-mid's range. I did try to use an exciter on the MK pads to brighten them up in post-production, but this was the best I was able to come up to. I really serves me as a lesson on why this kind of music relies so much on pads from a string machine: the moog-style filter really needs to have a bright counterpart (counterpad?) to balance the overall mix. Indeed, the mix sound a lot more balanced when the Crave is making the percussion sounds with noise instead of using the vco. As for the sound of the Behringer synths, I had difficulties trying them before buying: most stores around here don't sell them (or at least don't have them in their showrooms). This was the first one I brought. Initially I was reluctant buying a Mother-32 clone, but Behringer did solve two of my main problems in the original synth: no sustain level and the extra Record button on the sequence really makes it a lot easier to work with. The oscillator on the Mother-32 is a lot more brassier than the 3340 on the Crave, and I really would like to have the triangle wave from the 3340 available on this synth. It is indeed very subjective, and I must say I'm more inclined to test Behringer's original synths (the DeepMind and the Neutron), rather than the clones. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I haven't heard much of you lately, I hope you are doing well. Cheers!
