What does Mr. Quandt have attached to his 3rd and 4th fingers on his bow hand?

It's an elastic band. A few years ago he had an accident with his thumb and struggled to hold the bow properly. He advises people who are curious about it, NOT to try and imitate it themselves, as it is only intended as an "emergency solution" - I tried it myself, and failed miserably ;)
