Because of the TOP GUN MAVERICK MOVIE (which was PHENOMENAL) I HAD TO WATCH THE ORIGINAL AGAIN AFTER LONG TIME. AND Maaaaan Nostalgia CUTS LIKE A KNIFE HERE. I will BE VERY HONEST AND I'M NOT SCARE TO SHARE IT. The music, the love story, everything. One impression i get from watching the original is everyone look phenomenal and REAL, NATURAL. KELLY MCGINNIS looks gorgeous. And I love the fact that she is True to herself NOWADAYS, saying that she's now old and fat and age appropriate for her age and she is not forcing herself to look like all Hollywood glossy. And some people are killing her for that. Let her be who she is. She was and still is a beautiful woman. I would love to see her more taking care of herself, but for her health generaly. I'm not asking for her to BE SUPERMODEL as she was in her 20's or 30s, we all age differently. She is full aware of herself, her look and if you erase the fact that she got weight, everything about her STILL LOOKS REAL, and NATURAL without surgeries. And that got me thinking about the world we're living right now. Fake, where everybody are sensitive, men not acting like men sometimes. Women with copy/paste style, haircuts, fake boobs, lips, tattoos all over the body, plastic surgeries (I don't have nothing against that, but i have when it's over the top). No true romance, live conversations, everything it's about DM'S on Instagram or similar shit via social Media, clicking on our phones. We need to come back to basics. All of us. I love old-school movies like this with these romance stories, even though they are predictable or cheese for today's generations, but those were simpler, different times where people used to SHOW their EMOTIONS and SPILL THEIR GUTS over it just Like Maverick and Charlie HERE . Maybe it's cheese or corny or over the top or predictable for some new generations, but i love sometimes to watch good old popcorn, cheesy and predictable movie to relax and enjoy. It's not fair to judge a movie from 30+ years ago through "2022" eyes. If they had more time i think they would've developed even better romance story for sure. Original was good for that time, and Maverick for this time. Every scene with MAVERICK AND CHARLIE is sexy as hell, their chemistry is OFF THE CHART for me(ok maybe little forced for someone but I'm not gonna be ovecritical, it's not easy to make romantic story where everybody would be pleased), make me wish that we all have that type of woman/man in our life. And the SONG TAKE MY BREATH AWAY IS JUST LEGENDARY and brings so much emotions, real emotions. And by the way MAVERICK IS FANTASTIC SEQUEL. BOTH FILMS ARE GOOD IN THEIR OWN RIGHT. I'm not saying that "everything was better and good in the past". My opinion is you have to keep good things and values from the past that i mentioned above and mix it with good things from today's time. Just like MAVERICK MOVIE mix of good things from original and some new ideas. I know it's little off the topic but i hope that there are still a lot of real people out there. DON'T BE AFRAID TO SHOW YOUR EMOTIONS NO MATTER WHAT SOCIETY TELLS YOU. BE REAL, be TRUE TO YOURSELF, LOVE YOURSELF for who you are and don't be shy to express it.

This song came on the radio as I was driving home this evening, and brought back a memory of the most significant day of my life. Besides today, the last time I heard this song was in the afternoon of May 1, 1987. How can I be so precise? That was the day my childhood dream, to become an Airline Pilot came true. I had just completed my final interview with Continental Airlines and was offered the job. As I got in my car and started driving home I turned on radio and this song had just begun playing, and I was singing it loudly. That was the beginning of my 34 year career with Continental / United, which ended last year, when I turned 65, the FAA's mandatory retirement age.

@dvchel2 жыл бұрын
It's mind-blowing indeed. But it also makes sense, because, for the 1st time you had music videos that were made and could be shown on MTV etc. So, mass-consumption for the 1st time which helped fuel the industry and artists to create more masterpieces.

More than 1 person will ever know. I was a pre-teen to teen in the 80's and I heard so many then, and of course the major hits still being played into the early 90's and I'm still discovering ones I've never heard. Lot's of heavy metal for example that never made it to radio.

@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism2 жыл бұрын
@@marcgrossman980 Not even close. There's not even 10% worth of great hits from those era's combined, compared to the 80's. I know I grew up listening to 60's and 70's music. Try really digging in deep to the popular artists to find more, you'll soon see the majority of those artists have songs never played on the radio for good reason. They are mediocre at best. Do the same with popular 80's artists, you'll be blown away how many steller songs you've never heard before, and now along with youtubes recommendations, you'll find hundreds per day, whereass you probably wont find great hits you've never before from the 60's and 70's at all, and if you do, I bet you wont find 5 a day for a week. The 80's is just loaded and loaded, with thousands upon thousands, upon thousands of great tunes.

So glad my mom raised me with 80s songs💞 I grew up in a small town where mostly old people lived and my mom would always go to this club where everyone wore 80s clothing and only listened to 80s songs. I got my 1st phone at 14. I was so glad I grew up without electronics and played in the streets with friends and most of the cars the people drove in this small town was mostly cars from the 60s to 80s. I miss growing up with movies that were accompanied by incredible soundtracks. Through the music, we could re-live the movie experience over and over. What a time to be alive. I was 15 when this movie/soundtrack came out and I still listen and it transports me back to simpler times. I didn't know how good I had it at the time; so much freedom, skating rinks, summers off of school hanging with friends, so much laughter--side splitting laughter, night games with neighbors, ice cream after swimming....I just want a time machine...can someone hurry up and invent one?

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 NIV ROMANS 10:9-11 “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame” Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”” Luke 19:10 God wants us to believe in His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who died for our sins :D When we truly believe in our hearts that Jesus is the Son of God, who died for our sins so we could have eternal life with God, we are saved from the eternal fire and have eternal life in Christ Jesus!! 💖 May God bless you all! 😊❤️🕊

The music of the 80ies was truly a mixed bag. The more rock inspired music was fantastic, but the chewing gum pop that was created in melody mills just to sell records was a HUGE thing. Some of it wasn't too bad, but a lot of it was just awfully repetitious and meaningless. I was a young adult, and I had to listen to a whole lot of "baby shark" type music... 😖

IDK, the 80's were (still) OK, but the truly best rock/pop songs were before that--from Elvis to the Beatles & Rolling Stones to the early 70's stuff (pre-disco!!). That's not to say I don't like a lot of songs after the mid-70s too, but...

I was born in 2005 and ever since I was born my father introduced me to 80’s music and people seem so amazed on how I know these songs. I just wanted to say thank you dad for introducing me to these songs and for being there for me when I need and and thank you for being my dad. Love you.

80's was a great decade for music... in fact.. EACH decade from the 40s until the 90's had huge movements. Big Band, Rock n Roll, Country, Folk, Disco, Punk, Rap, Grunge.... now we don't see much uniqueness anymore because big corporations have taken over everything.

LYRIC | LETRA Watchin' every motion in my foolish lover's game On this endless ocean, finally lovers know no shame Turning and returning to some secret place inside Watchin' in slow motion as you turn around and say Take my breath away Take my breath away Watchin', I keep waiting, still anticipating love Never hesitatin' to become the fated ones Turning and returning to some secret place to hide Watchin' in slow motion as you turn to me and say, my love Take my breath away Through the hourglass I saw you, in time you slipped away When the mirror crashed, I called you and turned to hear you say If only for today, I am unafraid Take my breath away Take my breath away Watchin' every motion in this foolish lover's game Haunted by the notion, somewhere there's a love in flames Turning and returning to some secret place inside Watchin' in slow motion as you turn my way and say Take my breath away My love, take my breath away My love, take my breath away My love My love, take my breath away

Thats because the music artist in the 60s,70s,80s,sort did it all and today its all about monet and createing a brand,nothing to do with actually making grou dbreaking music ,now its all rehashed bullshit that sounds the same as theshit that came out since 2000 BORING lack of imagination a vast wasteland !

Sem dúvida, as melhores músicas naquelas duas décadas, que para mim também foi o melhor período em nosso país, apesar de alguns pesares. Aproveitei muito bem minha juventude.
