Mono-Hulled Boats? Too slow and boring. The World has been given F-1 on the water, no going back to row-boats powered by bed sheets.

Excellent sailing show! Too bad we get such short snippets of wonderful scenes, but what is presented is very well done.

For the next America's Cup, NZ, designated the J Boats as the race class!

These Katamaran-class on foils was the absolute BEST I've seen in Yachting and regatta-sport in (!)80 years ! Outstanding design and function going up to 40kts on foils (!)only by wind. Sad to say but the Kiwis ruined it the new foil monohull-class will bring up some major capsizes and accidents in crossing cause of the standing out foils from under the hull.

WS: you keep doing bad audio. The background music is so loud we cannot hear the foreground narrator voice!

AC, computers and teenagers peddling to generate electricity to run the craft = The loss of soul in the AC. Volvo Ocean race = When "managers" and money meet sailing. Long live class sailing. I love seeing what is possible, but its just not feasible to think that everyday sailing boats will have foils or teams of teenagers to charge the batteries necessary to run the computers and winches. Without the said teenagers the battery packs needed would be so heavy it wouldn't be worth it. There isn't enough space in your average marina to fit monohulls with foils. Great development. Can you imagine your average 50/60 years old sailing one of these ? Because these are the people who can afford larger craft. Grandad going out on his foiliong machine for a sunday blast ..... pull the other one.

Team33 technically they are pumping hydraulic fluid pressure not generating electricity

Then next time around we will get tiny puny little dwarfs with big thighs. Lighter. Next next time a computer virtual 3D game and a camera of the two syndicates CEO's punching their passwords into the computers that run the whole show. Wonderful. These craft can't perform without computer programmes calculating thousands of parameters to keep the foils and wing sails trimmed correctly at all times. When they fail - just for a fraction of a second - they dunk the boats. Uncontrollable by human intervention which is not fast enough. Bring on the 3D TV show, let the kids learn how to sail.

Team33 who are these 'teenagers'?
@team33837 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you could look them up on google per AC Consortium if their names are important to you.

+Team33 yeah but dude, the AC is and always has been about cutting edge sailing technology. I don't know of anything higher tech in sailing than the AC cats. Granted, they are more fly by wire in some aspects than almost any other sailboat, but that's what makes them impressive. Look up the tech ETNZ used on their boat. It's amazing. To each their own, and I wouldn't mind seeing monohulls in the AC again, as I think monohull racing is more pure sailing than cat racing, (just a personal opinion with little logic behind it) but I still appreciate the cats for the cutting edge tech that they are
