Canelo does have a different style of fighting than most Mexican fighters. The general themed "Mexican style" of fighting where you come forward and brawl behind a sometimes used jab, and a hook to the body is not his type if fighting. You can clearly see some of the tools and tactics that he has adapted from Floyd, both offensively, and defensively. The way he fights is a testament to that skillset, in addition to Canelo's own technique . In the game of boxing, skills pays the bills and will preserve you long run when everything else falls apart. Combine that with a sharp mindset, and athleticism, and you have something special. His record is a reflection of that. Now he needs to prove that he is more than special, but is great, by fighting all of the top guys in and around his division and defeating them.
