On board 2 shouldn't you double 2C to show a 4 card heart suit...it looks like you now have a 5 card heart suit by making a free bid of 2H.

yes partner took you for a five card suit when you could have doubled.

I think he has slightly overbid his hand since his black suit kings do not look good in the light of East's bidding

Having looked at the hand again John, I think partner should rebid 2NT after his first double which neatly describes his hand - since my 2H bid is a free bid (over East's 2C) his 2NT would show 16-18 points and now we are in a better place to judge.

That is true...but you can only concern yourself with how you describe your hand to your partner....if partner has misbid his hand...then you can give him a good talking to later :-)

Yes he should devalue his hand at teams here....lucky not to get absolutely mullered in 4H. could be going for 800 or 1100 in 4H doubled!

Bernard - on hand 9 why didn’t you consider a bid of 2c over the 1dx? I’d have thought that this would allow your partner to describe their hand, and if the opposition came in with a major suit then you’d still have the option of 5d

I did not want them to find their fit and possibly find a making game or sacrifice. My majors are so short I am expecting them to have a big fit.
