When you are talking about clean and mop as it relates to the mat what you are really talking about is the overall cleanliness as it pertains to the mat The overall concept is cleaning which is, at its essence, sterilizing. Once you look at mop and its role in the cleaning process you are looking at, what I've come to describe, a 4 part system: 1. Preparation of the solvent and solute. 2. Proper technique of the mop itself. 3. Correct timing of when to clean. 4. And finally, maintenance of the mop itself. That is pretty straight forward. The greater concept of cleaning and by extension sterilizing gets into a larger topic which includes, number of students in a class, number of classes per day, the temperature, the humidity, the hygiene taught at the school, in terms of washing uniforms, and whether or not such measures as Defense Soap are used on a regular basis. I will cover that in a future video. Right now let's get started.... (-read above in John Danaher voice) I think I've been watching too many John Danaher videos

East vs. West is more abstract and more clearly communicates opposing directions. Left vs. Right communicates the left side vs. the right side. What I'm assuming he was looking to avoid was someone taking the directionality literally (and only learning how to sweep from left to right).

In my utmost humble opinion. “ Nothing more rewarding than getting ones thesis validated by those who exceeds oneself in excellence” “ Advanced are basics done correct” “ Wisdom equates to correct comprehended knowledge, appropriately applied “ “ Fighting is relativity in motion, never expect only respond, as it is ones opponent within context that dictates tactics” Truly appreciate you taking the time to post and share these incredibly valuable, as well as in depth instructional’s with all of us. Many take these opportunities for granted these days, as information is almost at an over abundance, a keystroke away, just one quick look at most comment sections testify to the asinine mindset so many possess, wasting their time to write obscenities and worthless jokes, when they have the opportunity to actually sit and listen to masters of their specific craftsmanship, sharing their experiences earned over decades of blood, sweat and tears, without cost, gratis, perceiving it as nothing, wasting themselves as pearls for swine. I do not write this to sound blasé, but i hope, despite for all the trolls and less worthy people that acquaint your channel Bernardo, that you don’t let it get to you. You and Mr Danaher’s incredible content has aided my BJJ journey in ways that I cannot begin to explain. It truly is an honor to be able to learn from such peer as yourselves, and I hope one day I get the honor and distinct pleasure, to meet you both in person. Sincere and utmost humble regards. Fellow martial artist. Tom Framnes. Norway.

This is the kind of intelligence we deserve in martial arts. I've left a few studios because of too many knuckle draggers attending. I think there should a written intelligence/character assessment test well before a student even steps foot inside a dojo. The old stories of masters NOT teaching a student until the ego is broken is still of value. "You want to learn? Sweep... for five years. Then we'll see." Thank you Mr. Faria and Mr. Danaher.
