I came here to say. Xande's videos are best! Especially if you are new to jiu-jitsu. It's simple concepts and habits you want to get into early in your jiu-jitsu training. This is great stuff. It's so simple but, like many things, difficult to master. And unlike some of these whacky methodologies like worm guard or inverted guard, it's transferrable to self-defense jiu-jitsu, no-gi, MMA, or even a real life encounter. And it doesn't hurt that both and Bernardo are excellent conveyers of information. You can be the best in the world but if you lack the necessary teaching and communicating skills, that knowledge will stay trapped in your mind and die with you.

Awesome concepts, and very easy to implement. One question - if you put your top knee across the hips, what prevents your opponent from pushing your knee down and passing the other way? My biggest concern with the knee shield is getting the knee smashed down and getting passed in the other direction towards my back.
@prospero91x5 жыл бұрын
Your knee needs to be at a 45 degree angle, if it's horizontal, parallel to the ground, its too easy to push down. If it's vertical, perpendicular to the ground, it's easy to push left or right to pass
@peteypablo095 жыл бұрын
You can put the knee shield in low so you can fit it through the gap. Then after it's through the gap you can immediately activate it and also put the angle to 45 degrees so they can't push it down
