A charming piece by Zimmermann, somehow repetititve in its begninning, then soft and lyrical, and so on following the scheme provideed by Marcel Aymé - charming !!!

Oh and he wrote quite a few early chamber pieces which are broadly tonal such as Kleine Suite for Violin and Piano or Drei Geistliche Lieder. They are more in the sound world of Un Petit Rien

Alagoana: Caprichos Brasileiros, is also a very accessible piece from Zimmermann. Although you can't find it in You Tube.

Sense of humor?? I would call it good humored, but not humorous. First piece I heard from Zimmermann, and I liked it, but I havent found more 'classical' music from him. Would anyone know which are his more traditional pieces?
