I love Bernie, but he must get his rhetoric straight on this. There are 2 million Arab citizens of Israel who receive pensions, own property, are members of the military, are members of the Israeli parliament, serve as supreme court justices, who worship in their mosques, have access to Israeli hospitals and clinics and whose majority have absolutely no desire to be part of the a Palestinian state run by Hamas or the PA. The Palestinians were offered the West Bank and Gaza in 2000 but Arafat rejected it. Instead he called for One million martyrs against Israel. Then in 2008 the Palestinians again were offered a state but they REJECTED IT. Israel only has the West Bank because Jordan with forces from Iraq, Kuwait and Yemen decided to invaded Israel during the 6 day war. If they never attacked Israel than the Land would be occupied by Jordan NOT Israel. Have a good day.

Palestine and its Arab people were almost always under occupation but that doesn't mean they dont exist. Everyone called the land Palestine before Israel existed in 48 and even the balfour declaration (the document giving right to form the jewish state) stated it as Palestine. Saying there is also no Palestinian culture because they are Arabs and that is Arab culture also makes no sense, that implies an Arab population can only develop one culture which is dumb and false. Whatever anyone thinks of the legality of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory, it is not a politically viable strategy on the world stage. It's feeding anti-Semitism worldwide, diminishes Israel's position as a peaceful state among the turbulent nations of the Middle East, and makes it more difficult to bring either side to the negotiation table. Moving forward, Israel needs to stand up and come to the table, end the occupation (again, regardless of its legality), and extend a serious olive branch to the Palestinians. According to international law made at san Remo convention in 1920 Israel and Jews can settle anywhere they want.No occupatin so to speak.
