+thereisnospace Well, my countrymen on the Right would argue that universal free healthcare and free tuition are pricey, which would require a raise in taxes. And they would say that a raise in taxes is unfair and that Bernie would want to "rob from the rich, give to the lazy" in this manner. Our government's funding priority is our defense budget because, according to them, we need to protect ourselves from bad people more than we need to "give things" to "lazy people who didn't earn it". You "earn" tuition by joining the military and fighting ISIS, because my relatives would sooner have their children and grandchildren die than just be given even a reasonably priced education with no strings attached (other than you actually putting in the work to succeed in college, of course).

+Eli Gutman Certain Jews... And Bernie isn't an atheist. Jews are not greedy, most signers of the Giving pledge were Jewish. Jews are not bad, they are probably the most distinguished ethnic group in history. Their contributions to humanity are far greater than imaginable. Corpulent, are you kidding me? Jews, like any other group of humans, have both corpulent and slender individuals. Was that even meant to be an insult? Horrific? They are probably the least horrific group of people on the planet. I live in NYC, I see communities of poor religious Jews and affluent secular Jews, I always feel safe walking past them. They are the nicest and warmest people on the planet. After all that they went through, they smile. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Lastly, I find it despicable that you lie about working with Bernie Sanders. You have proven that you lied by saying "his has since passed". His mom passed when he was 19. I honestly don't believe you're Jewish. And if you are... you were not raised by traditional parents. Jews value family and love more than any other people. Their lives revolve around tradition, heritage, and community. Family is always at the core of Jewish life. That is why filthy antisemites (which I assume you are) often accuse Jews of being tied too close together. Jews love family, community, and their country. That is why they overwhelmingly vote democrat.

+Neighborbob No.... but I have followed Bernie's speeches Hillarys speeches and other candidates speeches on youtube.... and I also follow news for american election of 2016 .... and thats what makes me feel that Bernie is the only Good Guy in this entire election and ur entire media is biased against him wether its newspaper or tv channels..... Even this show of Colbert clearly is designed to ruin Bernies image..... I see similar things done against good politicians in India by media which I feel are paid by rich ,influential and corrupt politician....but its upto you to judge you know the situation better ....... I m not even in ur hemisphere :D.... just joking
@jarynn81568 жыл бұрын
pushkar piush The problem with a President Sanders is the structure of the US government. The US Constitution is vague, at best. Our courts have spent the last two hundred years trying to fully understand what the founders meant when they wrote it. Every time a president comes in, they can stretch what is allowed a little bit more. President Bush relied on executive orders to bypass a stonewalling Congress and pushed a number of initiatives that only barely got through because no one really felt they were allowed by the Constitution. President Obama pushed the envelope even further, with more executive orders than ever before. A President Sanders would have to rely on executive orders and other less than Constitutional measures to get what he wants. Congress is a slow moving organization. It was designed to serve as a check against impulsive behavior. Everyone attacks our "do-nothing" congress, but Congress is doing exactly what its supposed to do. Its moderating the president's abilities. So yeah, its not Sanders himself that concerns me, its the Pandora's Box he would open if he were elected.
@pushkarpiush50128 жыл бұрын
+Neighborbob But ur Congress will be like that for anyone in ur presidents office ..... This doesnt mean that Bernie should not be given a chance as displayed by media ..... If Hillary and Trump are good enough for president then so also is Bernie...... Let Bernie rely on executive orders and if it will be blocked by congress then people will also judge their local representatives.... if the move blocked by congress is in favour of people then it is good and if the move is against people then the local representatives will feel the burn in their next elections..... The move by executive head(In India it is prime Minister) is blocked even in India by Loksabha (India's congress) if it hurts the heart of the constitution....that is what democracy is about.... we cannot have an absolute executive head in democratic sysytem because an executive head with absolute power is a Dictator that happens in communist and Kingdoms...... In India also Prime Minister has to justify every action in front of the parliament.... In Conclusion congress blocking Bernie will expose ur congressmen ..... people will judge congressmen as well...... But this doesn make Bernie incapable of the presidents office as depicted by media..... Nor it is that Hillary is so much better than Bernie as depicted by ur newspaper.... If Only such a president is required who only follows congress then how will people see change..... so let Bernie take executive orders and let congress block it and then there are people to judge both of them.
@jarynn81568 жыл бұрын
pushkar piush You need to read up on US Constitutional history. Congress can't block it, thats the thing. Every president has pushed the envelope for what the executive branch can do. Once upon a time, the President was little more than a figurehead for the reigning party, a spokesman for the country. Now the president dictates everything. Everything revolves around the will of the president. Government agencies also have a tendency toward power creep. When you give a government entity an ability, it will never give it up again.

+lee brondum He's not -- CBS is. Their parent company is one of HRC's biggest campaign donors, so they try to put limits on the negative things he can say about her and prevent him from straight-up endorsing Bernie. If you pay attention though, Colbert is clearly a Bernie supporter. He's stacked his lineup of guests with pro-Bernie people, and when he has Bernie on the show he shows respect and asks tough questions that allow him to give thorough, supported answers, which Stephen never interrupts or discredits, unlike the vast majority of mainstream media right now. Colbert is definitely feeling the Bern -- He's just not allowed to say it.
@Stbuster318 жыл бұрын
+lee brondum I agree with Henric. Colbert has been the most pro Bernie person in the mainstream news/shows. A month or two ago he was shockingly pro Bernie , as much as you can on CBS, but he definitely got a call from the White House or the corporate heads to ease it. Colbert is an extremely intelligent guy and made his career on TDS calling out hypocrisy and political bullshit. He knows whats up. And most likely knows that Clinton is a sham but they have to be complacent because that's how the Corporate State is. He toes the lines trying to be unbiased but then lays down an absolute nearly every time he's doing a Dem bit that Clinton is going to win anyways.
@Stbuster318 жыл бұрын
+SirLagsalott you're likely a government run or Clinton run user that looks to sway public opinion. And what you're questioning is a common manipulation tactic to discredit a well agreed upon understanding of what is occuring in the mainstream media. To be able to list and credit each bit, point and video to understand what we are saying, would require way too long. Its complex but also cut and dry if you're aware of everything going on in this fight to retain power by the Corporate State and Government, its puppet. Clinton is ahead nationally because there are huge amounts of people who are less educated, uniformed, apathetic, and ignorant of the political process and real issues at play. There also many who are complacent to what the media and government says and are easily swayed by people telling them how to think and form opinions. There are also a good deal of the public who are distracted by reality tv shows, sitcoms, sports and celebrities, something that the State relies on heavily to pass bullshit past the public unquestioned, at a larger scale. Bernie's message, has and will hopefully continue to reach the uniformed masses and realize that they do indeed have no power when it comes to politics and the larger systematic economic structures. He is looking out for the 90% of the public. That's a democracy. It baffles me sometimes that people are complacent and support the larger establishment. But its really not a surprise. I feel bad for them in a way for they are the ones who are being duped. That's why getting a college education, especially a liberal arts one, is so important because it teaches analytical skills and actually exposes the hypocrisy and corruption that is amok in our worlds institutions and structures. The State, the ultra wealthy and those in places of power do not want a more educated public because their house of cards will have a greater chance of crumbling. If you call this a conspiracy theory, again, you are either a paid Government user or have been subjected to brainwashing by the State. Which is fine, I was once in the dark too. We're all in this together #feelthebern

I cant understand whats happening to Colbert and the Daily Show... I was a huge fan for years and Bernie as a candidate represents everything these shows stood for and were fighting for but for some reason they always try to find a way to try to discredit him, first he "wasnt a real candidate", now he is "the other side of the same coin with Trump"... I understand that its a comedy show, but you can make fun of him without using false arguments... And I know it will be hard to reach his goals, but that is not a reason in itself not to choose him - they will oppose Hillary just as much so why not choose a president who actually believes and stands for something... (I am from Europe not even USA but I think Bernie would be much much better because the issues USA has impact other countries as well - and yes we have free healthcare and no, it doesnt ruin our economy...)

+Gergő Kovács They're employed by the media, which is run by corporations, most of whom have parent companies that have backed Hillary. So they're going to do everything they can to try and ensure that Bernie doesn't win. And that means it's probably Colbert and Noah's jobs on the line if they endorse him. Their hands are tied.
@Viva_la_natura8 жыл бұрын
+Gergő Kovács It's funny. I thought this skit was very upsetting as well, and then I saw Colbert's full interview with Sanders and he was clearly supporting him, and asking him poignant "devil's advocate" questions which helped Bernie clarify his policy proposals like no one else has been able to do - it was a great interview, but this skit was terrible.
@JK_29988 жыл бұрын
+Paul D Because the interview was Colbert's, the skit and the graphics are the network's
@Viva_la_natura8 жыл бұрын
oh interesting, thanks for clarifying.
@JK_29988 жыл бұрын
Paul D I think Colbert's network has even gone as far as to donate to Hillary's campaign, so they obviously want her to win.
