Why does it seem that nobody there except the conductor and Joyce are feeling pretty?
@gabik333339 жыл бұрын
+Nada Intelectual Perhaps it was a concert for somewhat "difficult" audience and only few believed in its success. There are some members of the orchestra, feeling quite pretty though. Nevertheless, the performance was beautiful and Joyce - I guess - spreaded her "feeling of joy" around. I'm sure it stays in memory of many of the audience. Takes a great artist to do that. :)

When a singer sings the words to a song, the lyricist is supposed to get credit. So, this should be: music by Leonatd Bernstein; words by Stephen Sondheim.
@Yves_Ka4 ай бұрын
Generally not - when singers sing Schumann, Schubert, Mahler, Strauß songs the lyricist is seldom mentioned. I doubt the majority of music lovers even know who wrote the text to Schumann's Frauenliebe und Leben or Schubert's Wintereise
@aresee82084 ай бұрын
@@Yves_Ka I see lyricists credited all the time. I Feel Pretty " is a popular song from an American musical. It has a composer and a separate lyricist. If a musician or an orchestra plays just the music then sure. Composer only. But when someone sings the words, the person who wrote those words should be credited. In my humble opinion, of course. Clearly, some others don't agree.
@Yves_Ka4 ай бұрын
@@aresee8208 It is pretty much the same with opera librettists. Mozart's da Ponte and Verdi's Piave and Boito are kinda well known - but does anybody remember who the librettists were for the dozens of Donizetti and Bellini and most Puccini operas?
@aresee82084 ай бұрын
@@Yves_Ka Well, if someone knows the music from West Side Story but doesn't know Stephen Sondheim wrote the lyrics, that's on them. Not because Sondheim is obscure.
@Yves_Ka4 ай бұрын
I would not be judgmental and say “it is on them” - on the other hand if you have a problem that the majority of music lovers don’t know who the librettists are, that remains your problem
