Dude you need to do a video on the importance of stretching. Beginner guitarist are not adapted ergonomically to the guitar. It takes years for your wrist, muscles and tendons to become adapted to the guitar. This is not automatic and when a beginner starts to improve it is partly because of this and not so much in just advancing in skill. A new guitarist should never ever pick up a guitar without first stretching and some may need to stretch additionally during a practice session. Always stretch first, you will be much more nimble and reduce the chance of injury. You can damage and tear your tendons especially fast lead guitar techniques. Lots of ways to stretch the hands, wrist and arms. But one important stretch is to use a baton and hold it in hand making a fist around it. Use the other hand to twist the wrist and forearm radially. Do this stretch in both directions. After a while some that experience discomfort reaching certain parts of the neck this will go away. Some of the issues are not skill related they are discomfort and movement restricted issues. Once these issues are alleviated advancing in playing will come much more rapidly. Ive played for over 30 years and broke a finger on my fretting hand. So I built a left hand guitar and am starting all over from square one. This is the first thing I realized in this journey. Ever pick up a left hand guitar? Feels weird and awkward right? This is why you are not adapted for left hand and when you started right hand it more than likely felt exactly the same however, you did not know any better then. All guitar teachers need to get left hand guitars and teach lessons to themselves. 10 years of playing you have long forgotten what it was like to be a beginner guitarist. Other than that great videos, you are one of if not the best on youtube. Cheers!

@@Bernthguitar the exercise at 5 minutes into the video. The B string keeps ringing because the ring finger touches it slightly so as to a small pull off. Have tried to keep the fingers precise but am not able to figure out how to mute that string

I've been a Marketing Director for one of the largest companies in North America for 20 years, and I can tell you without a doubt that the most neglected market are those people who are in between the beginner level and mid-intermediate level. Most tutorials are either for absolute beginners or for advanced players, which leaves out those in between. Your tutorials are actually wonderful for this neglected segment - you're helping the "in-between" players advance to another level and that's great!

> 60% not subscribed… Because they think that the channel deals only with what/who you look like, though it is completely wrong. I don’t care about shredding, but I landed several times on some of your videos where it was NOT about shredding, instead: smart and wise tutorials about guitar technique and music theory, applicable to any style. I still don’t care about shredding, but I subscribed. You are doing a GREAT job. Thanks.
