I'm a bassist brother who also plays guitars. This video is VIP!! Techniques are vital! Separates the haves from the have nots. Your doing a great service to the music world. Really love what your doing. I'm a huge fan. Ty Bernth. Ignore the smug snobs n trolls. We're behind 100%!!! I'll be looking you up daily. Very inspiring. Barry from USA.

This is one of the best videos which I happened to see at right time of skill progression. Absolutelly boosted my skill not just in picking, but also in left hand work. Great!

Hey , Bernth really enjoying your tutorials on playing and theory. You are an awesome teacher with great playing skill. Cheers, have a great day !

That really is just what I needed! If you allow me, I'd like to suggest the topic of building speed, how do you go about it? Speed bursts? Slowly building it through a metronome?
@DankradMP4 жыл бұрын
I would go with both methods in different study sessions.

This is my fav KZbin Guitar lesson channel. I have so many good guitar teachers on youtube including Rick Graham but man, you are so articulate, explain in a beautiful manner and also provide guitar pro files, which is fav part ;). You are the best, I hope next year you reach 1 millions subs. I will stay patron forever, yeah in b/w on and off ll be there..

I really appreciate you using a regular guitar for these lessons Bernth. Your GG Allen guitar is amazing but those fret inlays are a bit difficult to follow sometimes. You're the best on KZbin Bernth! 👌
@williamtomlinson43224 жыл бұрын
Loved how these built upon each other in a really logical way. Awesome lesson. I gotta ask tho surely it you would be able to go faster to play it by economy picking a string skipping pattern rather than the strict alternate picking your using, because after every set of two strings you get to do a down stroke to the string below rather than an up. I.e E (down up)>D (down up)>A( up down)>G(down up)>D(up down)>B(down up)>G(up down)>E(down up).
@Guitar1992Lover4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! You are the best teacher on KZbin for sure! I remember the day when I clicked on your video while searching for really good guitar exercises. From this day I play much better, appreciate your work! Dude, you're cool.

Hey Bernth I got a question! In your practice videos I have taken into account of your practice routine suggestions and stuff like the compound effect. But what if I want to practice songs? Will that come under the practice session? I really do want to learn songs and take them seriously. Thanks!
@Bernthguitar4 жыл бұрын
Great question! I personally like separating that from the practice routine in the morning (technique/theory drills), I work on songs/videos/recording later during the day :)

Honestly, is so pleasant to watch your playing skills, just like Josh Middleton and Kiko Loureiro. By the way, did you listen to the Kiko's latest album? It's simply amazing. I'm looking forward to see something like this from you!
@Bernthguitar4 жыл бұрын
Kiko is amazing, I absolutely love his album! I finished recording mine this year, we're currently mixing - hope I can finally release it soon, we also shot 4 music videos and it takes a while to put all that together aside from the KZbin/Patreon content :) Thanks so much for asking, that means a lot to me!

Bernth, the pattern at 9:32 is very cool, looking forward to learning and practicing that one! Was also wondering, how much time in a day do you practice? I work a lot and most of the time, I can get 30 mins to an hour but that’s about it. I was just wondering, how much you do? Thanks!

I gotta say that last one was pretty tough. Makes me sad to think that it's considered intermediate :[ BUT I have to say, in over 10 years of self taught noodling and a 3 or 4 year major depression hiatus, I'm learning so freaking much, and I know more and am a better player now given just a few months than I ever was through all those years. And I love playing more than ever. THANK YOU, BERNTH!

@yoobzy81833 жыл бұрын
I think where your at, I think you should be able to do the first 2-3 exercises. I’ve been playing guitar for a year pretty consistently and right now I’m working on the 3rd picking exercise and kind of struggling with the strumming pattern, but regardless it’s good practice. I haven’t tried the fourth one yet, so I can’t saying anything about it yet
