Thank you, was about ready to tie .50 cents to my unit so I could say that I actually threw something away because I had tried several other thing. BUT what you showed solved the problem. Love my TS8000, hated to lose it, but firing it up with a match WAS NOT fun. NOW we're back in business.

Based on your demo, I removed the tip and found some dust filaments or trash between the element and the side of the tube. Brushed that away and torch works like new. Thanks for your video.

I found some dust and a little spider web that I cleaned out carefully with a Q-tip. Now, she fires right up! I am going to get an old pair of cheap garden gloves and cut off the fingers to use over the ends of my 2 torches and maybe keep them more dust free out in the garage.

Bernzo torch head's main issue seem to be the wire that runs from the trigger mechanism. I've fixed countless heads by completely stripping it down, pulling the wire out and soldering the trigger end and running heat shrink all the way up to the lit end where the wire arcs. its a simple fix that has saved me hundreds and countless trips to home depot. I work in a shop that wraps vehicles and buildings so I've gotten pretty good at fixing these things.

this vid and the comments helped me, I had to replace the wire that goes from the spring in the handle to the tip you show💪💪
@garn53415 жыл бұрын
FYI for others, I just had the same issue, only my wire was too close. It was sparking every time, but I guess not enough of a gap to ignite the gas, so I pulled it so ever so slightly "away" from the tub and it ignites almost every time now.
@taylorsomero93714 жыл бұрын
If this doesn't fix your problem, your ignition wire insulation may have melted where the support holds it at the end of the tube, grounding it out. I solved this by disassembling the torch head and removing the wire, adding a small piece of shrink tubing on the melted section, and flipping the wire around so the other end fits in the support bracket and reassembling.

Great tip. The other issues is buildup in the tip or fuel tube. It must be clear to provide proper flow. A natural buildup does occur after use. Its consistent with that of a thick spider web. Just clean it with a small tool and fire it up.

Thank you. I did not know that the position of wire to the edge was even a factor. It only makes sense though when I thought about the importance of gaping auto spark plugs. So yeah, thank you

Mine sat around for super long. No problem with alignment. The sparker was cover with cobwebs and debris. Cleaned it out and worked immediately.
@wade2361 Жыл бұрын
Thanks to this video, I removed that tip and found cobwebs. Cleaned them out and it lit right back up. I use mine often too (it's my bbq lighter) but apparently some spider set up shop in the couple weeks since I last grilled.

Over the years I've replace too many bernzomatic products. They do not sell any parts and that means you toss them and buy new. I now buy cheap junk and get to save a lot.

If this does not fix your ignition failure , pull the wire up slightly & gently so it protrudes from the end of the stainless steel tube and slightly extends into the brass screw on extension

Just pulled the nozzle and found a spider nest inside with a spider. I could shoot out a flame but it was more like a lighter than a torch. Guess i cooked the spider alive.
@BassPotter46 Жыл бұрын
Also, run a pipe cleaner down the tube. The smallest little spider web will keep it from working.

I've got 2 of the rothenberger versions , they're pretty well identical. One has been working great, one lights if you light it with a lighter, but burns yellow and unusable. Found the problem, a tiny spider web in the tube, fished it out and now it's working fine. Id tried cleaning the jet, changing the nozzle, no dice! Simple usually wins huh?!! Does anybody know where I can find a fine nozzle for these torches? Searched around, asked rothenberger stockists , can't find anything!! Cheers!!

Bernzoatic propane torches are awesome. Their mini butane torches, however, are pathetic!
@docglock19324 жыл бұрын
Do you know what the maximum temp this torch will reach?
@bushratbeachbum4 жыл бұрын
It depends on what gas you use. Propane vs mapp (or tf ultra, the mapp replacement) burn at different temperatures
@macgyver51082 жыл бұрын
With propane it's roughly 1980 °C or 3600 °F at "full throttle", and I believe that number is at sea level too. Altitude affects the burn rate and temperature because there's less oxygen higher up. Mapp gas burns a bit hotter at 3730 °F.

I saw other videos where you remove the stem at the bottom of the torch where to screws to the tank 3/8 socket. I squirted a little brake cleaner fluid blew it out with a can of compressed air ant it fixed it. There was a white powder residue that I think was blocking the fuel. Then I shot the air thru the nozzle incase anything was in there. Did the same to 2 of my nozzles and it worked.
