Thimbleberry leaves are also known as "Nature's Toilet Paper", being large and soft. The sap of a Thimbleberry plant can also ease the sting of a nettle and often grow nearby nettles...

Great information, guys. It's good for newbies to have a comprehensive book on wild edibles for the places you're hiking if you're interested in foraging. Ripeness is definitely a factor when picking berries. 👍

A favourite question when I was a child: what colour are blackberries when they are green? Red! LOL

Thanks for the info on the red huckleberry. We are up in WA and have seen these and they were way to tart a month or so ago. I may get back out there and give them another try. We sure love the black huckleberries and love foraging for those. We also see lots of the blackberries around here, so many all over the place!

Very nice video guys! With our luck the critters usually get to the ripe berries before we do. But I do have a question for you. What are your thoughts on the safety of RVing in the Pacific Northwest right now. We have a son who lives on the outskirts of Portland and we had planned a trip to the Pacific Northwest but from what we are seeing on the news, we are wondering if it's safe to go anywhere near Portland right now.

Please respect the land , those who a few months ago were panic buying toilet paper are now scouring the woods and gathering everything they see along the trails with total disregard of how delicate the PNW ecosystdm is
