I watched a Christie Moore version of this first and this just blows it out of the water. Bert's voice and his passion just hits the spot!

Took my husband’s ashes from California to Ireland after he died. Put Bert’s version of this song on my iPod and played it at Kildare- no better tribute….thanks for sharing this beautiful version.

Never heard this before. Beautiful! He has been a hero of mine since University days in the 60's. Learnt to play a lot of his guitar work then and still find something new thanks to You Tube. RIP Bert.

My hands up straight away why I wouldn't join in.... I'd be like everyone else too hypnotised and mesmerised ... Witnessing sheer perfection leaves one speechless and motionless ... Beautiful .. Thanks for sharing

Christy Moore may be a Kildare man, but Bert made this his own. Simple but beautiful guitar.

One of my favorite versions. Bert was a master singer/guitarist with more "hooks" in his guitar accompaniments than a long-line trawler ;)

Looks like he had to borrow yet another guitar. Not his usual Yamaha.
