Manfred Moch was a true legend and helped Kaempfert produce some classics. When he left, the sound was never quite the same again. If yuou check out Afrikaan Beat for example Moch and post Moch you will see what I mean.

This is so true ,the sound was not the same and realy far from the way Manfred was playing. He realy was a virtuose.

Great video showing these great musicians. Manfred Moch's story of leaving Kaempfert is slightly misleading. He did work with Kaempfert again in the mid to late 70s, but only as a trumpet section member, not as soloist. Check out the live video of That Happy Feeling, where Moch is present in the trumpet section.

There is a disconnect here between Manfred Moch being dropped for asking for a raise and everyone else saying Bert was a really nice guy.

Really. Bert lost the best trumpet solo player in Manfred. No one could replace MANNI. No one

Is this really a photograph of the recording session of "Safari Swings Again"? For the trumpet sound of that tunes I thought that the soloist was Ack Van Rooyen.
@77easylis14 жыл бұрын
@russallert I think by the studio recording in October 1976 in Hamburg of Safari Swings Again, Manni Moch was also there in trumpet section, but the solos played Ack van Rooyen.

Question: who played the trumpet solo on the recording of "Wonderland by Night": was it Charles Tabor or Manfred Moch?
@rainehobson3711Ай бұрын
Tabor played the first on the recording. Then MANNI came in. MANNI was the best
@johncantwell8216Ай бұрын
@@rainehobson3711 So they both solo on the same recording of that song?
@rainehobson3711Ай бұрын
@@johncantwell8216 I believe Tabor did the first recording in the studio . The album was produced in America. Germany didn’t feel it was “ appropriate “. Once the record was released in 1961, Manni joined Bert. I guess Tabor left. And Manni did the live performances in Germany of WBN and subsequent albums that came out, Manni did all the solos. He was the best. After he left Bert, Ack Van Rooyen took Manni’s place as trumpet solo. He just didn’t, in my opinion, have the Soul Manni did in playing the trumpet.

It´s definitely not "Happy Feeling". Compare the title at 3:26 with "Happy Feeling" available in KZbin! Berthold is right: It´s "Happy Safari".

It was sad to hear that Bert K was such a miser, so he couldn't pay his best soloists. Sees that other orchestra leaders "took over" them. Apart from Geisler, who seemed to be faithful to him "to the End"
