To me, it's second only to Robin Williams An Evening at the Met from '85. But Dave kills in Denver: "Ladies, does size really matter?" *women screaming* "Well, the whores have spoken." It's ageless too, minus the M-word stuff that certainly hasn't aged well. (I mean, Peter Dinklage is reason alone to never use the pejorative these days.) But, it was 20 years ago, and Dave clearly has no hate in his heart. Huge fan.

I saw Dave Attell outside an airport in Canada, I told him he was a great comic and I love him. He asked me for a lighter, he had a carton of american spirits. Still a great dude lol

Saw Dave live 5 or 6 years ago in Buffalo and he did not disappoint. My friends have stories of meeting him in weird places and him being super kind. His ROAD WORK special is still one of my favs of all time. He did it right.

I met Dave after a concert in Portland 11 years ago. I’ve seen every comic you could ever want to see but I couldn’t wait to see him. I ran into him on the street after the show. I asked him for a cigarette we talked for about 30 minutes he was the nicest guy. He wrote down on a card, some of his favorite upcoming comedians for me. He was awesome.

Reinventing the wheel in a sense. Love him or hate him, people like Bert, Tom, the skanks, Theo, Bobby & Santino (to name a few) have reached a new level and made comedy a bigger attraction.

Dave Attell probably won’t see this, but I need to exclaim! In the 90s and early 2000s I’ve watched everything on TV and bout the Insomniac tour dvd. In 2005, I got to see him in Kuwait on the USO tour that he mentioned. He was amazing and I want to thank him for being there and doing it. Words can express how it helped my return to Home from Iraq, but those are for me a I won’t share it. Thanks, Dave, for everything!

When Dave said he only did 2 shows for his special because he didn’t have enough money to shoot 4, all I could think was, he’s the most highly respected and beloved comic amongst comics in the world. One call to Joe Rogan is all it would have taken. Joe wouldn’t have even hesitated.

First time I watched Dave was when he had Insomniac show on HBO back in 2001, I was 19 yo. I loved it, I didnt know he was a comedian back then. Im from Argentina, here stand up wasnt too popular at that time, outside Seinfeld. Later on I watched his bits on YT and I liked him even more. Such a cool and chill dude.

There's a standup Dave did, a half hour that aired on comedy central presents in 99, which they finally posted on youtube, I thought it was the funniest shit I ever saw when I was 10. Watching again and I'm in awe at the rapid pace Dave goes at, just joke after joke, one of the tightest sets I've ever seen. I'm the BEST repeat show attendee, because I almost never remember a punchline, so I laugh just as hard the second or third time I hear a joke as I do the first time. It's why I LOVE watching comedians, especailly over the years as they mix up old and new material. And honestly, I've had a crush on Dave for more than 25 years, but haven't been able to see a live show yet- life gets in the way. So does poverty.

I remember watching "Late Night with Dave Attell" on Comedy Central, way back in the day. It was some of the only stand up comedy you could see on TV and I think it did a huge amount to bring the comedy world to where it is today. EDIT: Been so long I forgot the name of the show. Insomniac was the name, as Dan enlightened me down below.
