I keep coming back to watch this from time to time. It's surprisingly touching, and I'd like to thank you for archiving the scene and introducing me to Berwick Saga.

It's nice to know the units in Berwick have a life outside of war.

Axel has such an amazing event chain 🥹 I like how the scene with Dorros is different if he isn't killed during combat. Unfortunately, I'm probalby going to turn 100 years old or die before IS finally gets their shit together and does something actually interesting with non-essential units, instead of locking them up in time chambers that are entirely segregated both from each other and the rest of the narrative.

Holy shit. I never considered the possibility that the battle could end without a winner until now. Dunno why, every house battle is like that. I need to go test this for myself.

@@lordlouie3550 yeah that's because Doros is extremely weak. You can check his stats on the info list and they are pathetic. And fun fact: robbing Doros' bandit axe is the last opportunity in the game to get one if you still need to craft Gullveig and missed the earlier ones.

IntSys can make good maps and mechanics as evidence by Conquest and Engage, but they cannot tell even a decent story anymore. Echoes was a remake and avoided the usual modern FE trappings (but they were ready to add them) while 3H was by a different company entirely. Advance Wars: Reboot Camp was a combination of the two + AW being story light in the first place (although there was an interview from 2016-2018 that the lack of romance was one of the reasons why they couldn't find a way to revive AW) That just leaves you with Awakening, Fates and Engage which is just...disheartening to say the least.

@@A_Person_64 Yeah. Between Fates being an unmitigated disaster, 3H being written by a different company, and Engage intentionally playing up the corny angle, hopefully the lack of decent interesting stories in the past... decade, is just a dry spell. Probably doesn't matter though, even when making a story with no financial incentive, Kaga writes better than IS.

@@lordlouie3550 He writes stories well because he genuinely had an interest in medieval politics, military science and just writing about people's reactions to war in general (which is why the games he made gradually because giving multiple sidequest and events to side characters.) Same with Yasumi Matsuno (The Ogre Saga, Final Fantasy Tactics, FF12, Vagrant Story and Crimson Shroud) he studied politics in school, was a economic reporter on foreign policy and made WW2 dioramas and all of that shows in the writing and aesthetics of games he has worked on. Similarly, the name escapes me now, but the man who worked on Suikoden 1-3 and Eiyuden chronicles (he passed away sadly) knew how to write political intrigue for a JRPG of all things (Suikoden is just JRPG FE CMV) and the moment he left Konami, the series slowly drifted closer to typical JRPG plot structures and character archetypes. Man, if only these guys collaborated with each other. They're all getting old and even Matsuno said he wants to wrap things up because he noticed he was going to more funerals than weddings lately.
