My sections are 1/2 round x 1" long, make sure section fits inside cap.

Does ebonite need buffing ? When I do buff after wet sanding , it’s leaving very distracting scratches ? Pls suggest .

I use micromesh when wet sanding, then green polishing compound.

@@mohangsk3759 you can use a plastic polish or Hut wax like used to put on a wood pen. Also try a automotive carnuba wax. No rules to finishing, try whatever you have on hand.
