In this video, I will show you how to remove your roof lining and side pillar panels and then go onto completely recovering everything with a difference. www.ebay.co.uk... www.ebay.co.uk...

VERY NICE Charlie. I'll be posting up my project soon ,to change that silly little cubby hole (that all transporters have) into a USEFUL double DIN hole. This will then take a head unit (into a heavily modified original cubby Ive cut and shaped) - tilted down with reverse camera/ GPS/ etc. Ive made up an ISO extension lead from the original position up the windscreen pillars to the new head unit location. The old one will become a switch panel/ drinks holder. DAB aerial is going on the roof. Finished off by an LED headlining (maybe a starlight one?) once I fibreglass a new shape for the headlining to follow where its now larger. I got the idea from you!👍

Great job and well explained too. So well so, I’m gonna have a go myself! How much room is there between the headlining and roof? Enough for insulation/sound deadening? Thinking that whilst it’s stripped down…..
@charliesautos3 жыл бұрын
Hi, and thank you, there's definitely room for deadening pads, not sure about the insulation tho unless it's the thin type?

Looks brilliant! How far over the other side did you glue down material? I’m trying to use 4 way stretch carpet and concerned about it fitting under the door seals.
@charliesautos10 ай бұрын
About an inch should do it, 4 way strecth carpet can be a bit thick which is why it's not really the best stuff for roof lining.

That looks really good. I have just removed the cab roof panel from my T4. It took a couple of hours to remove all the old fabric, foam and glue and then remove the residue left behind. I am going to cover it in light grey faux suede 4 way stretch fabric with a 2mm foam backing. Well done on a cracking job.

Apart from interesting way of recovering roof (I like it a lot), there is very interesting ''contraption''/screen you have above your stereo/navigation unit? Can you, please, provide some more information about it. Thank you in advance.

@@charliesautos also if you don’t mind me asking what size do you get for the roof only or did you get a few pieces
@charliesautos8 ай бұрын
No it's just one piece so have a measure up making sure you go over by a good few inches for folding over.👍🏽

I’ve just had a go with the trim fix glue you used, sprayed on bothe suade and the roof panel, it’s not sticking? So frustrating did you do it bit by bit? I left it 20seconds to go tacky on both then applied
