Today I want to tell you about a terrible experience of flying with Ural Airlines, so that you won't have the same problems.
For many years, I flew to Kaliningrad with a suitcase bought specifically for their carry-on size.
This time at boarding they took our passports and boarding passes, offered to put things in the calibrator, and suddenly my suitcase didn't fit. The small backpack you see didn't fit either. We were asked to step back and before we knew it we were behind a turnstile. On one side was the gate, the calibrator and the employee with our documents and tickets, and on the other side was us and a lot more people.
On the company's website it says that luggage must enter the calibrator freely and one attempt is given to check it.
We agreed to pay a 3500 p fine, but faced humiliating remarks from the employee Ildar Latypov, and had to almost beg to take money from us and let us on the flight. Upon arrival, it turned out that our belongings fit freely into all of the airline's calibrators.
Most of all I feel sorry for a family of 4 people who flew on vacation, passed all the control in Omsk, and at the transfer in Moscow they were charged another 14 thousand, and the whole vacation they were probably nervous that the same thing will be on the way back.
If you do decide to fly with this airline, your luggage should be 10 centimeters smaller on each side than what is stated on the website and at check-in practice putting your luggage easily and effortlessly into the calibrator. Take into account that at the gate it will be much smaller than at check-in and you will have 1 attempt.
