@@ducknator I truly hope that's the case nowadays, that Finnish would be seen as an accepted language if the song is good. I love Finnish as a language and I'm proud to speak such a small and unique language. However, 'Aina mun pitää'.. got so much negative attention and even Finnish language was blasted. I guess people back then really just hated that song and decided to hate on the language since hating the performers would not be acceptable either. Oh well, I do hope for a good live show and that's how I will choose who to vote for!

Todella iso positiivinen yllätys! Bessin upean käheä ääni pääse oikeuksiinsa kertsissä, tuo mukavasti särmää muutenkin menevään kipaleeseen. Muutenki ääni kuulostaa läpi kappaleen monipuoliselta ja eläväiseltä. Rallatukset kertsissä ei lähtökohtaisesti mene jatkoon, mutta tässä toimii kohtuullisesti, koska sitä rallatusta ei hoeta estottoman paljon ja kertsi ei onneksi ole pelkkää rallatusta. It's because of the experience we have had with such entries. Repetition of such experience creates a pessimistic additude which is strengthened by others who feel the same. Trauma might be hard to break out from.

Language may not be the ultimate deal-breaker but it certainly does have an effect. Risks may simply be higher with other language, especially if that language isn't a big language. Some may think that jury doesn't like Finnish, or haven't liked in past. Trauma and prejudice might be hard to break. And also, this may not feel super strong song to Finns because it is kind of a radio music for us. Some just don't see anything special in it, thus not thinking it being interesting, thus making a conclusion that one doesn't have a chance to win ESC with such song. Too mainstream.
