fantastic! Was this the first ever film footage of the Charleston? if so I guess this amazing bit of acting & dancing by the fabulous and beautiful Bessie Love started a world-wide dance craze! And didn't she do it brilliantly, some great dancing! thank you for posting this :-)

I'd guess that Charleston dances had been filmed before, but this could be the first instance of the dance being featured in a Hollywood movie.

According to Bessie Love’s Wikipedia page, her dancing the Charleston in this movie standardized the dance nationwide. It was her version of it in this film that popularized the dance. I just read that and went straight to KZbin to look for it!
