Very interesting setup you have here. I tried using very simple lever arms like this and I could not get it to operate smoothly. The only type of setup that I have found is worthwhile is having the weight(s) on a very long arm, linked to a very short arm which is connected to the center. There are two over-unity principles that can be utilized with that way. One for when the weight is travelling downward and one when it is going upward.

thanks. this ones a no-go even with both pairs, but so many possibilities; pivot points/lengths/angles/weight sizes/ weight placements/ spring tensions/pulley shapes/etc. i would love to learn more of the long arm, linked to a very short arm connected to the center. lets make something go! [e-mail]
