Thanks. I liked the test data. Personally, when I get a 1/4" drive torque wrench, I'm looking for something in the 2 Nm - 20Nm range. It turns out there are several companies that make exactly that sort of wrench for carbon fiber frame bicycles. They are incredibly useful for some fasteners on chainsaws and even M6 bolts on cars or small tractors. I used mine this past week to torque the M5 water pump bolts on my 2004 Kubota RTV900 to 11.3 Nm. The wrench has a nice break that's easy to feel and works just fine even though it doesn't make a "click" I can hear. More and more, because I work on machinery that is all metric, the torque specifications are in Nm. I'm starting to look for torque wrenches that were designed around Nm being their primary calibration, not a difficult to understand secondary on the other side of the handle. So far I have one, the bicycle torque wrench. That apparently happens because I've seen carbon fiber bicycles with the torque specification written right on the frame next to the fastener. Again, thanks for the good data. FYI: The wrench I described is a Vibrelli Bike Torque Wrench Set - 1/4 Inch Drive - 2 to 20nm, 0.1 Nm Micro. There are others that get good ratings on KZbin from bicycle mechanics. So far I like it, but it's only one of many suitable candidates.

On the subject of 1/4" torque wrenches, I just got an AC Delco(ARM313-2A)1/4" digital with angle that spans 1.1 to 22 ft*lbs. The company that makes it is Durofix and the wrench is made in Taiwan. It seems like a quality tool to me and a bargain at the $167 that I paid for it. It comes with a one year warranty that's extendable to two years if you register on the company's website. The case is made of metal with a carrying handle, like a mini toolbox. The inside is nicely cushioned with dense foam molding. The certificate of accuracy on my wrench reports an average deviation of about 0.1% in the CW direction and less than 1.5% deviation in the CCW direction, both over the whole torque range. I just wanted to get this out there for anybody who's looking for an inexpensive 1/4" electronic torque wrench.

Another great testing video. Looks like a second hand Sunex would be better than a new one! eTOrk is a similar styling to the Norbar and Wera wrenches we have over here, with their bulky handles, it is a fair comment for a tool that is designed for small fasteners and tight places.
@Tools-Tested Жыл бұрын
Thanks, yeah its kinda a shame with the eTork. I really do like the design, but the size is more like a 3/8 not a 1/4. Hoping to test some Wera at some point.

Egad. I chose the Kobalt for its compactness, higher range of 250 in/lbs and metal knurled handle over plastic. I'll just have to recalibrate after 250 cycles....LOL. It is a sweet wrench to work with and accurate enough for what I do with it I think. It's just comforting to know its limitations.
@Tools-Tested7 ай бұрын
Yep its a nice torque wrench, compact with a good range.

Would love to see some of the cheap 3/8 drive 5-45 Ft. torque wrenches tested since they hit a sweet spot for oil drain plugs, oil filters, UTV/ATV, motorcycles. Suzume and Anpuds makes them perhaps others. My Suzume checks real close to my QUINN digital torque adapter.

Your link for the Ares takes me to the 1/2” version. Just FYI. Good testing. Thanks! Looked for the ARES; seems to have been discontinued.
@Tools-Tested Жыл бұрын
Hmm I wonder if it defaulted to the 1/2 because the 1/4 is out of stock. Hopefully it comes back, was the best value IMO. Ares is weird, seems like they remove the product when it’s out of stock. The digital wrench’s were delisted a few months ago but now they’re back. Thanks!

sadly the teeth on my Husky broke after only the second use, I wasn’t maxing it out either. So that lifetime warranty may come in handy.

I’ve actually had really good luck with Husky tools. I’ll never buy another kobalt anything. Even went through several ratchets, ratchet wrenches, a 3/8s torque wrench and their socket size tolerances equals busted knuckles

Really appreciate the video. Do you find that digital torque wrenches are a decent solution in the 10-100 in-lbs range? My technique/experience is quite limited and I prefer not to have to guess with click-type wrenches
@Tools-Tested Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I haven’t really tested 1/4 digital wrenches yet. I am a little concerned with control at 1/4. I found the digital screwdriver hard to hit the target exactly. But a wrench hopefully would be a little easier, hopefully at some point I can test them and see.
@mattborman5780 Жыл бұрын
@@Tools-Tested Thanks so much for your reply. The Wera Safe-torque A1 looks like a good option in this torque range. It's very expensive, but for those concerned with control at this range, it seems to offer some desirable functionality (it would also be an interesting candidate for inclusion in a future higher end 1/4 drive video ;) )
