Fusion 360 will soon be the "Industry Standard" looking at the fact that they offer educational license free of cost for 3 years. Students will opt to sharpen their skills on free versions like Fusion 360 and industry will soon adapt to this change.

Grouping components in an assembly is not possible in Fusion 360 which is a bummer... Nice video!
@PranshuTople4 жыл бұрын
Why do you need to group components while they already are an assembly? You can just move one thing to move others. And also you can make nested assembly which works as the same as grouping. And thanks for the compliment on video 🤗
@abhishekreddy24254 жыл бұрын
@@PranshuTople My main concern is with the components list on the left... When we make an assembly with a lot of components, it is very easy for the component list to run very long and end up confusing even with proper naming of components. So I feel if we can make groups to make the list look tidy and easy to navigate to components for selection/right click options

Thanks for the information, as always your content is just awesome. I have a question: apart from URDF, Is there any design program that is supported by Ubuntu?
@PranshuTople4 жыл бұрын
Yes. You can view designs in different file formats on Ubuntu. You can view it in .obj, .stl, etc. But if you wish to use it in ROS Simulation, then your robot model should be compulsaryly in stl/dae format along with URDF description of robot which joins all pieces together. I hope that answers your question

I am sorry to say, but you should get the answer by yourself by looking at people who know about it and use it. Plus, here i have mentioned softwares compared to the use in ROS. There are a lot of limitations in NX and hence it comes no where around Fusion 360 or Solidworks

Fusion360 doesn't seem to be a good choice for people without money to spare who are working on potential commercial projects. They changed their license to be unfriendly - an open source alternative could be better.
@PranshuTople3 жыл бұрын
You can use it for free until and unless you earn more than $1000 from it. And I don't think sparing a little price as compared to other professional grade softwares to the original creators is wrong when you are earning a lot from it.
@headrobotics3 жыл бұрын
@@PranshuTople I think that may have changed "Fusion 360 for personal use is a limited version that includes basic functionality, free for 1-year for non-commercial use" www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal The hardest part of a project is getting started, paying $60 a month is quite a bit for projects in development.
@PranshuTople3 жыл бұрын
@@headrobotics if your project is into development, then you don't need to pay. You only need to pay once you earn revenue through it. The one year thing that you are talking about are just a few professional features. You can still use Fusion 360 after an year for free, just few features will be unusable
