The best toaster by far is a Sunbeam Radiant Control - it doesn't matter which model. Sunbeam doesn't make it anymore, but a reconditioned one is worth every penny. Buy once and own it forever.

I have gone through far too many toasters over the years. All they do is toast bread items yet almost all of them get fancy with options, controls and electronics and they do NOT last! I wanted a good toaster with replaceable components that are user serviceable that was NOT made in China. I ended up purchaing a Dualit 4 slice and it is one fantastic toaster! No fancy gimmicks....just simple effective toasting! You 'pop it up' manually which actually is a better use feature than auto popup. Pricey but you get what you pay for AND I'm not giving more money to Red China!!!
