A matrix allows you to take multiple HDMI inputs and route them multiple displays, and switch the inputs & outputs in any combination. Finding a side-by-side multiviewer that does not preserve aspect ratio or zoom might be challenging because most modern multiviewers are designed to maintain the integrity of the aspect ratio for a better viewing experience. Quad or even Hex view should be good for your multi video source viewing needs. I got a feeling the quad viewer is going to be good for bringing couch Coop back to multi console gamers. Xbox & Nintendo Switch or even PC are going to be good on this. Or retro gaming if your into that.

Is there any product that would take two 1080p screens, turn them both sideways, and display them one on top of the other on a 4k TV? (Think TV mounted vertically, or flat on its back on a table-top). Its hard to tell, but from what you show it looks like none of these will do that...

@@BZBTVchannel I think you misunderstand (or I wasn't clear). Not a video wall, a multiviewer. So one 4k monitor, and two computers with 1080p signals. Signals get turned sideways, and displayed next to each other on the single monitor (or on top of one another if you mount the monitor vertically).

For your scenario, we do have a solution, but it will require a combination of a multiviewer and two video wall processors. Would that output to any of these still work properly to go into an AVR and then out to the projector? I am think to get the audio to a 7.2.4 theater setup (input 1 is a 4K BluRay and want to watch a movie, but another day I want to watch four basketball games from four sources)

Hi Brian, yes, as long as the receiver supports the resolution of the Multiviewer your seeking. If trying to get 4K@60Hz just need to make sure your receiver supports the same 4K@60Hz. You would need to plug into Input#1 of your receiver. Plug in the sources into the Multiviewer.
